Gizmo went to the Vet.

In another discussion I had mentioned that Lizzie and Gizmo were having a hard time with separation anxiety. Gizmo has been having a hard time keeping food down. Well, it got so bad I took him to the vet. Gizmo was running 103 fever and has an upper GI tract inflammation. The vet gave him three shots and Gizmo has to take pepto bismo a few times a day. He has also lost 10 pounds. The vet thinks Gizmo had made himself sick with worry and concern. For those of you who know my pets, I want you to know Gizmo is doing a lot better now. The medicine is doing him good.

I had no idea that Gizmo was having problems. I thought it was just Lizzie. Glad to hear Gizmo is doing better. How is Lizzie?

Thank you for asking about Lizzie. She is doing a little better also. It just amazes me that the dogs seem to be having more issues than the children. I try to take each day one at a time. That is all I can do right now.

Maybe since the kids know more about what happened they think you are better off without him.

Oh when it rains, it pours but the good Lord only gives us what we can handle. Although at times, I wish he would quit sharing so much with me. My dogs are a great source of laughter for me. They are like children and they get into things just like kids do. I will share hugs with the dogs for you and Gissi.

Oh that's both sad and good news :) I'm glad he's getting better. I know you'll feel better with that too:)

I am greatly relieved that Gizmo is now able to keep his food down. He is enjoying his treats also. Yes, he is showing signs of feeling better.

Hi royal! I'm so glad to hear you've found what's wrong with Gizmo. Your story made me really sad but I'm glad he's doing much better! It's obvious he loves you and your husband but can't have both. Maybe the suggestion I made earlier would do the trick? Let your husband take him with him for a day and then return him so he'll learn that he'll never completely leave him OR eventually he can fade out of his life a bit slower so he can get use to it.
