Well I had a stressful day. I was awakened byu my dads calling at 8a.m. Seems he got sicj early this morning. he had vomited quite a bit and also had a severe case of diahrea. Not a fun job let me tell you that. he claimed he felt okay so I just bathed him cleaned his room while the wife did laundry. He ate just a piece of toast for breakfast and a small bowl of oatmeal for lunch. I kept asking how he felt and he said fine. I did a lot of house work and remodeling in the meantime. I;ll have a cheerful discussion about that soon enough. Well after a couple hours of doing work here remodeling and going to Home DFepot etc I looked at dad as he ate dinner. he was pale. Breathing was heavy. No pains at all he claimed. None in the chest nor abdomen. I tried to get him to sit straight up but he couldn't even lift his butt off the chair. Now he sat in his chair from 930 till 630 when I finally called 911 AND NEVER ONCE GOT UP TO URINATE OR ANYTHING. wELL i JUST RETURNED FROM THE HOSPITAL. tHEY ARE RUNNING ALL SORTS OF TESTS. hIS BLOOD PRESSURE WAS STROKE LOW. aND NOW HE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH PANSREATITIS OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LIONES. i CAN'T RECALL BUT HIS PANCREAS IS SWOLLEN PRETTY BAD. sO i COULD USE PRAYERS FOR HIS HEALTH AND ALSO FOR MY MENTAL HEALTH AS WELL. tHANKS IN ADVANCE ALL. Damn cap locks. Grrrr! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!`

Yes, Bob, we will pray for your dad, and for you as well. I would definitely call this stressful. I am praying now, and will remember to do so again. Pancreatitis is serious, it is an inflamed pancreas. I understand it can be painful as well. From your description I thought you were going to say he had had a heart attack. I am not sure what causes pancreatitis, I will look it up, later, but I know I am hearing about it more and more often. Take a deep breath, slow down, and find some peace. I will be praying for you guys, as I am sure many other friends will be as well.

When the EMT's were here his blood pressure dropped drastically as well. They mentioned stroke possibility but seems not so. It was scary actually. Thanks for the info so far about this as well. Anymore you find would be beneficial. I will learn more tomorrow after I talk to the Drs. Thanks for the prayers and love shown. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm so sorry to hear that. Your Dad is lucky that he has you. I hope he gets well soon, and it doesn't end up being too serious. Taking care of an elderly parent can be a real challenge. I'll send good vibes your way.

Thanks bunches. It is very hard on me mentally and physically taking care of him. I've been doing it for over 3 years and the stress is the hardest part for me. But I manage to pull throuigh. Thank God I don't drink anymore. And thanklfully I am strong as well not picking up that bottle again. Years ago I would have been drunk as hell by now. Anyhow thanks again. Your poor Dad, & poor you, having to do all this to help your Dad. I have not heard of PANSREATITIS. What that account for his sypmtons today, of vomiting, not moving, etc? How are they going to treat this condition? I know you have told us before, but how old is your Dad? I had a feeling it was about 90 years? I will be thinking of you & your Dad.

Vomiting, no appetite, diahreea, weakness beyond normal, and he was white as a sheet. That's when I old him he was going to the ER. He was given an IV with a lot of various antibiotics and saline solution to add the water back into his system. He ate this morning and had a regular bowel movement and urinated fine as well. he is flesh coloroed again and not white. So he is improving. Thanks also for the concern. Dad is only 83 years old. I am terribly sorry to hear this news. Definately you and your family is in my prayers. Just last week I was so happy to hear your Dad was doing fairly well other than he didn't want to get any excerise. Maybe it hurt him to walk and that was why he appeared to be lazy maybe it wasn't that at all ? Either way I hope and pray he will be OK. Out here there is a nasty flue bug happening so hopefully dear ol' dad will be feeling better soon :-) Take care grandpa Bob and God bless your kind heart.

Well here's the thing with dad, his first stroke happened at bingo years ago and he refused to leave the Bingo hall. He doesn't tell anyone if he is hurting till it's past a Dr visit type of pain. I asked him about 5 times all day Sunday about his feelings and if he needed a Dr. he kept saying no. But then when he got white colored I said you're going to the ER. He won't tell me anything and I'm not a Dr. I don't know what to do sometimes. But I survived another ordeal. (so far) Hahaha. Thanks sweetheart for the prayers, thoughts and all your kind words and caring since I've been a member here. It means a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello grandpa Bob!(",) Sad to know about what happened to your father. I think you mean Pancreatitis - an inflammation in the pancreas. I'll keep you in my prayers. Hope your father is doing better. Here is some information about the disease of your father. Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas. The pancreas is a large gland behind the stomach and close to the duodenum. The duodenum is the upper part of the small intestine. The pancreas secretes digestive enzymes into the small intestine through a tube called the pancreatic duct. These enzymes help digest fats, proteins, and carbohydrates in food. The pancreas also releases the hormones insulin and glucagon into the bloodstream. These hormones help the body use the glucose it takes from food for energy. Normally, digestive enzymes do not become active until they reach the small intestine, where they begin digesting food. But if these enzymes become active inside the pancreas, they start "digesting" the pancreas itself. Have faith!(",)
