I love the way clothes smell when they have been dried outside on a clothesline. I love to watch them moving in the wind as they dry. How about you?

1 - I don't sit around and watch them dry. But, it's rather difficult not to see an entire clothesline full of clothes. 2 - There is a unique smell to clothes that have been dried outside in the wind and sun. It smells fresh and clean. It is a wonderful smell.

I hardly watch them drying. And i rarely dry them in sunlight as the color of the fabric gets faded when dried in sunlight.I do love the smell of the clothes after being dried but only if i use good detergents(liquid ones).

If you hang them inside out, then only the inside will fade from the sunlight. That's what I do. :D

although many love the smell of the fresh clothes on the line , some people cant do it that way, I read an article about the mites and pollens that collect on the clothes as they are out on the line so people with allergy problems should use the drier so the heat can kill the buggas , but i do enjoy the fresh smell of crisp clean linens

I've never heard about pollen getting on the clothes, but it does make sense. But, they get mites on them no matter where you dry them. There are mites in most mattresses. I just really like the smell. And, I like the lower electric bill when I don't use my dryer.

I like it too, but they come back in so stiff and rough. I gotta get used to it though, I don't have a dryer. So I get to deal with line drying in the winter -- hopefully none of my laundry will get caught in a snowstorm LOL. I don't mind when they're on the line and it rains though. I think the rain added something extra to that nice fresh air scent.

I don't mind the rain either. Sometimes, it makes them rougher, though.

I use a dryer, it is much faster and my clothes come out less wrinkled.

I have a dryer. I prefer to dry them outside. It's cheaper and they smell better. And, if I want them less wrinkled, I can always put them in the dryer for a few minutes or iron them. ::shrug:: It's just a matter of preference, I guess. :)

We used to do that when I was little and live to my parents house! because we have no dryer and washing either.Yeah I do like because its smell good after they get dry from the sun! I miss that kind of drying the cloth.

It makes the entire room smell good, too, after you bring them inside.

oh yeah, me too. i like the smell of clothes that have dried in the sun and touched by the wind, especially if it is washed in flower-scented detergent and have been doused in fabric conditioner. after they are ironed, oh i love the smell! i would forget to put on cologne when that happens! :-)

I like to hang clothes from time to time, but do not have time to watch them move in the wind. It is a special smell all its own to hae them dried outside.

Oh for sure..that to me is the ultimate smell of clean. Forget orange, lemon and pine. Give me the smell of clothing dried in the sun and wind. One of my favorite smells. I love it on the sheets and blankets at night, I leave them out on the line until the last minute then go to bed early that night!

LIke you I Love the smell of the clothes that dried in the air outside. My only problem is that usually they become harder and scratchy and I love them soft , really soft:) I know that if I iron them it often solves the problem a bit, but I don't like to iron that much - another reason not to dry clothes outside as often as I could. But I still do, for some things and really like it - not even counting what we save in electricity :)

i live in a town house complex and here where i live they frown upon drying your clothes outside as it disrupts the 'look'. also here in my city there is a huge debate about the whole laundry outside thing! it has even been on the news!! a lot of people are against it!! frankly i dont see what the big deal is to be honest!!

I have heard a lot of people think it makes a place look bad. I think people associate clotheslines with being poor. Like you don't have enough money to have a clothes dryer. I think they are too worried about what other people think.
