How many of you can remember your first teacher? For me it was many years ago, but I remember her very well. She was a young women with a beautiful smile. I was feeling a little apprehensive at first, and that smile helped me relax. She was kind too, and somehow seemed to understand that we were just beginning to experience a completely new world. Blessings.

Unfortunately, I don't remember my first teacher. Because I started to go to kindergarten when I was 18 months old. Then I continue my student career until I graduated from college. It lasted more than 20 years. Haha...

Wao Pos123, you bring the old good memories of childhood alive to my old brain. Yes I do! Infact I still recall my first day at school. It was a sunny morning-every child was carrying a broom and there was compound cleaning. I was a little bear footed boy in a brown Khaki short and a a similar shirt. It looked a truely funny uniform if I compare to what my kids put on today. We went for a General Assembly and was addressed by a smart looking Headmaster on black shoes, white shirt and a black tie and coat! After the assembly,we were directed to a huge mango tree that acted as a classroom. A huge blackboard hung against the tree. There was a cruel looking woman whose welcome to new pupils was very hursh. She was called Magdellena. She greeted us "goodmorning" and since i was coming to school for the first time, I didnot know how to respond. She noted That I had not responded and dragged me infront of the class! I amost blacked out! I was shy, and the rest of pupils were laughing at me. I will never forget my first day in school! During the 10 o'clock break,I went out looking really humiliated by everybody in that so called classroom! As if to add salt to my injury, when I was out for break, a notorious pupil approached and challenged me to a fight! Before I knew what was happenning, half of the school was around us daring us to fight. One called me a coward as this other boy kept charging at me for no reason other than to bully me. I got off my shirt and delved into the most atrocious fight of my young life! I gave my opponent a bleeding nose and floored him twice, biting him severely on his arm before he ran away! I was a hero at that time, everybody called me praises since I seemed to have treated them to an entertaining fight! But just I was enjoying the aura heroism, the evil teacher, popularly known as Made was holding my cheek and pulling out of position for involving myself in a fight. She didnt even care to listen to my side of the story!Tears started rolling uncontrollably dowm my cheeks-I didnt cry aloud. I just waited for the bell to toll and I went home. I asked my mother whether she had any grudge with Made the teacher, to which she said she had none. I declared to my parents that I would never go back to my neighbourhood school as long as Made was still the primary one teacher. That year I stayed home- I was later taken to a differnt part of the country where my brother had just got a government job and there I started school-it was a blessing in disguise because there I got quality education! Thanks alot Pose123 for this discussion-it took me back in time!

Oh Yessss do I ever. It has been a lifetime ago and I can't remember her name but I will never forget her. I came to be so comfortable in her class I found myself bored with what she said and did not listen. What I remember the most was one morning she was talking on a subject I was bored with...sorry to say it could have been anything. I set at a table with another boy and decided I would play around. He was paying close attention to her as he should but I thought I would play with him. I would put a paper up in front of his face to block his view. He tolerated it for awhile so I kept it up. Next thing I knew that teacher, talking all the time so as not to alert me, was standing over me. When I turned to her she grabbed my shirt collars with both hands and shook me so hard my teeth rattled. Now this was back when teachers could actually correct their students. I was sooooo embarrassed. Next thing I knew I was out in the hall for a time out. I never ever did that again and she always had my full attention. LOL She was a good teacher and I will always remember her.

My first teacher was short and heavy ,but with a beautiful personality. She made all the kids feel relax and we all learned a great deal because of her patience and fun way of teaching.

I do remember her a bit ( I was away when they took the class photo so I dont have a picture of her) Her name was Vera and she was about 30 something. She was blond. I dont think I liked her very much and I dont think she liked me as well but who cares. She broke something when she fell on some ice (I am not sure if it was an arm or leg). Ande we didnt have to go to school for some time. I used to fight with the boys and I remember how she called my mom to school. oh and by the way I am female.

I remember my kindergarten teacher. I didn't like her very much and neither did the rest of the class. She had a mean voice and I don't remember her having much patience. We had a teaching assisstant in the room too and we all loved her. She was so nice and soft in talking to us. One day she brought in baby ducks for us to see. She was great.

I remember her name and I can remember a little about what she looked like but I wouldn't say I particularly remember her. I remember several of my teachers. In fact, my son attends the same school as I did and some of the teachers were still teaching at the same school until recently. I think there is only one old one left there now!

I'm still young, so I most likely remember my first teacher!;) She's beautiful, young and a good motivator. She even laughs at some of our innocent mistakes, that I remember one time I colored a picture of a boy "black." =) Asked me why did I choose that color, I told her that I have a cousin who's skin was like that!;) I really miss her, haven't heard of her since she got married. Infact, she's my childhood crush back then!;)

i can still remember that my mother got me enrolled in a catholic school as a grade 1 visitor. i had a young nun for a teacher. i can no longer remember her name. definitely she was beautiful and very young yet. how patient she was in dealing with all the pupils then. i can never forget that she got a piece of cardboard and wrote my name on it in big letters. she instructed me to copy it all the time on the first line of my paper before doing anything else on it. i never understood why she did so. i knew that my parents had taught me to write my name and i have learned it by heart. well, when i was older, i learned that i added one more letter to my first name. hehehehe.

I still remember my first teacher, who could forget her since she ask her students to stand up if ever they answered a question incorrectly?! She made most of us students cry because of being so strict and we are just in kindergarten that time. My second teacher is my favorite, she's my teacher in Grade one, her name is Mrs. Torres. She's such a wonderful and patient teacher =)

Yes, I still remember Ms.Xu because she was my first teacher. In fact she was old when she taught me. At that time I always finished my homework so fast and therefore my handwriting was pretty ugly. Fortunately she corrected my this bad habit. Today my handwriting is good and clear because of her.

I can still remember my first teacher in the primary school. He was a young man in his early twenties. I was afraid of him because he was serious and I was a timid boy then. I can still remember his looks then. I am wondering how he looks now. He must be in his sixties, I guess. I would be very happy to see him if I could have the chance to meet him and I am sure that he could not remember me at all as it was more than two decades ago.

Big Chief Tablet required in kindergarten - big chief tablet required in kindergarten when I was in school back in 1977.
Yes I do remember my kindergarten teacher. Her name was Mrs. Holt. She was an older lady that was very nice. I even remember the things we did in class. We had big thin cardboard books that taught us how to write letters and teach us the alphabet and numbers. We always had to rest and she would read us a book. We got a snack and chose between chocolate milk or white milk. We had to have those big pencils and big chief tablet paper and the big fat crayons. I can tell you all my teachers clear up to high school...some I would like to forget though...lol

Well that depends what you consider your first teacher. I don't remember my preschool teacher. I vaguely remember my Kindergarten teacher. I remember her name and what she looked like. I remember that she was real nice and stuff. When kids were bad they had to sit in the corner. She helped us learn to write our names and we'd make crafts and things all the time. I also remember my first grade teacher pretty well. She had a "top banana" each week and at a very young age we all knew how to spell and read banana.

Hi raychill, Thanks for responding. I was thinking of the regular school system. If your preschool wasn't part of that, I guess it would be kindergarten. Blessings.

of course ,i did remember my first teacher. it was about 20years ago, when i attended to school with my elder sister.we live very far away from the school,it took us about an hour on foot,so we should get up earlier than other students.my first teacher was a young lady, she is patient wiht us,very kindly.she is also a friend of my mother,so she asked me to have a nap in her dorm.i was really sleepy when at school in the afternoon, that did much help.now several yaars passed,i've not heard of her for a long time, but i am still thankful for her help and care.

I remember my first grade teacher, Mrs. Pardee. Her husband taught either 2nd or 3rd grade at the same school. I don't recall much of my childhood since I've been blocking a lot of it, but I remember liking Mrs. Pardee, at least more than some of the other teachers I had.
