Selling Books for Cash

Has anyone ever sold books for cash? How much cash did you make doing so? I have a lot of books from my personal library that I'll probably not read anymore. I wish to make some cash from them by selling them to a local bookstore. How much can I command? I have a mix of "classic" novels and children's/young-adult books.

i have sold 2 books through internet,, i think it;s really funny,u know i never had a experience before , so i am enjoy the feelings i got money from others at that time. i will sell my old book if i have chance again

Hi, I have sold a couple of books that I do not read anymore, but to be honest it wasnt really worth selling them, I got pittance for them as now books are so cheap to buy new, unless its a collectible or a first edition I think it just takes up too much time and effort for little profit, but whatever you decide to do good luck x

It is little profit, but how little is little? I'd like to think I'd get more than $5.00 for my collection. I'm aiming for $25.00-$100.00 for roughly 30-40 books. Is that too much or too little? Businesspeople, help me out here.

It is alright to sell things which you do not need. Try to sell your books in shops which sell 2nd hand books. Ask their price and bid higher, show them your book's condition (still looks new) but if the book looks old, try to agree on the price the shop is going to set. Enjoy selling! Can I have even one free book as a fee for the advice? :)joke
