Original Cast?

How many original cast members are left on the show? From what I understand, Pat and Ian are the last ones. Which characters from the 90's are still left? And which ones from 2000-2001 are still left? The show seems to have changed a lot from the episodes I am currently watching, which is getting close to Jaime and Steve dying. Jaime just recently proposed to Sonia.

You must be watching some pretty old episodes! I think the original ones are Pat, Dot and Ian but I think Ian is the only one who has been there from the very beginning. I think Peggy was in it very early on and she's still there but the actress has changed at least once!
There are loads of newer characters now and almost none of the originals. As for the 90s characters, I think the Mitchells mostly came in during the 90s and there are only Peggy and Phil left from those.
I don't think any other characters have been there for more than a couple of years. (Unless the years are going quicker than I think and there are people who have been there longer than you realise.)

Thanks for the comment! I think Billy Mitchell has been there for awhile now, but I could be wrong. I think I'm currently able to see the 2001 episodes where I live. So I'm about 5-6 years behind everyone in Britain lol.

I think Ian is actually the ONLY remaining original cast member. Pat wasn't there from the absolute beginning, nor was Dot. Funny that so many people hate Ian Beale's character but I feel quite sorry for him as he is such a weak guy sometimes that he ends up in trouble and isn't it amazing that he has managed to get 4 women to marry him? haha!

Ah ok, you're quite a few years behind us. I shouldn't really tell you this but Ian has moved onto his 4th wife now LOL! Let's hope this one lasts. I won't tell you what happens to Laura but it's quite unexpected and not very nice! I still haven't got over my addiction of the show hehe! x

Right now the episodes I see are where Ian is trying to keep his affair with Janine a secret from Laura. She suspects something because she found Janine's "blonde bombshell" business card sitting on the table. I think she confronted Ian about it but he brushed it off as Steven having something to do with putting it there to get attention.

I think Ian is the last original character. I know Pat and Dot have both been on the show for awhile though.

That's too bad that he is the last original cast member. The current writers should go back to the beginning of the series and see if there are any plotholes that have not been resolved yet. I heard they keep bringing in new characters and having new storylines and all. They should go back to the beginning before Ian and the other people who have been on Eastenders since the 80-90's decide to leave.
