Yippee! I got a raise!

When I checked my mail bin this afternoon there was a letter from my supervisor. It stated that I will be getting a raise in my next paycheck. I was thrilled. The many years I worked for my former employer, we received cost of living increases and sometimes not even that. The raise won't make me rich anytime soon, but it will help with the finances.

Thanks - it's great to "be back"!
Now that summer is over, things are calming down a bit. For someone who has no life, I sure was busy!!!!
See ya around!

She had told me that the raises are usually given at the end of the year so this totally through me off!

Not only will it help with your finances, I know it feels like a commendation. Someone thinks you are doing a good job. It is a concrete form of appreciation.

I almost forgot to tell my husband about the raise! It wasn't until after dinner when we were having our coffee.

Congrats on the raise thats awesome. Every little bit helps these days. My job was just cut from 40 hours a week down to 28 hours for the winter months. This really hurts or budget alot. Next week I need to go job hunting.

Ouch. My hubby will be laid off from work at the end of next month. We will need the extra to help with the costs of running the household.

I wish I was getting a raise. Surprised your boss didn't call and tell you. Glad you will be getting a raise. Your new employer sounds much better than your old employer. Wish it was me. Take care

I was surprised that the boss didn't call me into her office to tell me. But, just the same, I am happy to get it.

This is some great news Elusive :) and even if it doesn't make you rich as you are pointing, it's always nice to feel appreciated by the once you work for, and of course it will help your finances too. :) Such news is always nice to get :)

That must have been exciting News for sure. I would Love to have this happen with my job but unless I get promoted or they raise everyone in the Company some, this will not happen for me until next yr. on my Anniversary date.
Continued success and Good things with your job.

Good for you. I guess your supervisor noticed how good you were with your clients. Just getting cost of living increases do not help as they do not take in account, that you want to raise your standard of living, but a raise! That must make you very happy. I guess that means that some of your bills are going to get paid quicker and maybe you can go out more often for suppper.

Good for you! Every little bit sure helps these days, doesn't it? Now I hope everything you buy or have to pay for doesn't jump up too all at once to cancel out your raise! That usually seems to be how it goes for us. My mom always says that with her SS and pension checks, she gets a little increase in the beginning of each year but her deductions always go up by more than her checks do. Enjoy it.

OMIGOSH, Elusive, I had to write back to yell at myself! I didn't mean to come off so negative but that sounded terrible after I read it over. Also, I didn't realize it was a new job for you and I didn't know about the surprise evaluation. That's great, hon, in my experience surprise evaluations usually meant they were trying to catch you doing something wrong, but then again I worked for the idiotic postal service not for a human being...lol Anyway, here's another stab at what I'd intended to start with...congrats and enjoy!!
