Where do you meditate?

I meditate daily, usually several times. I have a meditation room that I use, classes I go to, and a home circle. I also find my meditations to be very profound at sunrise or sunset sitting in the sand or water at the beach. Where do you like to meditate?

I meditate five times a day anywhere I am. As a Muslim , we have to pray five times aday in specific times anywhere we are, during the day and night. These prayers are real meditations that takes you out of this world, recharge you with positive values and high spirit, connect you with your Creator, and remind you that this life is so short to be wasted in pain and fear so that you would live fully in peace and joy by building this earth and spreading peace and justice among human kind. May God Bless You

You are so right! Clearly meditation keeps you in the right place with the best of intentions, that is truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing and may peace be with you!

By the way, how do you do your meditation,if I may ask? for instance is it Yoga or type of meditation that you developed yourself?

Glad you asked! I do most of my meditations using chakra colors and energies. I connect to the earth for grounding and move up through my chakras untill I reach my crown chakra. I then envision a column of white light "energy" coming above from "the Source" and through me and then reversing. I mostly meditate to connect with the Source and my Spirit guides and teachers.

I meditate anywhere I can. I don't have a special place in my home for it, because there's no room, and I don't go to classes. But I've been meditating since I was a small child, and part of what I like about it is that I can do it anywhere. I don't have to have a special place to do it, because the special place is within me. =) I do like to meditate on the beach or in the woods when I get a chance, but due to health concerns I rarely even make it outside my home these days.

*smiles* I had the good luck of having a Celtic pagan great-grandmother and a Native American great-grandfather, both of whom taught me spiritual things. So I know more than one type of meditation, and I've been doing it for most of my life now. I used to actually annoy kids at school because I would meditate outside on my lunch break, and nothing they could do could get my attention, and then at the predetermined time I would just stop. =P I like journeying and visualization meditations best, but sometimes the "clearing your mind" type comes in handy. I actually have always used blue for healing energy, because of the connection it has to a certain deity for me.

Thanks for sending me healing energy as well! I can use all I can get right now! I'm sure there's some kind of purpose for my illness, but I'm getting very tired of it all the same. =P

You sure are right about being able to meditate anywhere! I think it is awesome that you have been meditating since childhood. While you are meditating, send green healing energy through out your being, and ask for this healing. I will send you some healing energy too!

Well it depends on my mood, my schedule and my location....Usually though I much prefer to do it outside in the backyard down by the fire pit in the warm months...anywhere outside and quiet is perfect for me but living in the North thats obviously not possible in the winter....My bedroom works out well for it too and when I'm in the jacuzzi...that seems to be the best substitute for being in the great outdoors oddly enough...As for time wise....very early in the AM when the sun is just starting to come up but the world is still asleep works best for me..I'm refreshed from sleeping and its nice and quiet out and of course watching the sun come up is a beautiful setting...

I mostly meditate in my room and our spiritual center! In normal situation where ever i am and if my meditation time is there as well as an inner force suggests me to meditate then I will seat there quitely and meditate. We have a healing group and we are getting togather for healing purpose but at the same time we meditate also! Our group meditation is always amazing because it has healing process also included!

Meditation on the beach at sunrise or sunset sounds fantastic. I've recently taken up yoga, for the stretching as well as the meditation. It provides a calm, peaceful oasis to my day. Like a trip to spa, but in my own living room. Not sure I'm unselfconscious enough to do it in public. But I guess if you do it right, you can lose sense of your surroundings, so location is not so important, right? But it certainly helps to be in a place that is already peaceful and beautiful.

I am creating a meditation room. I had a house that we did not live in but were remodeling I loved to meditate there It was a great space. By the water is wonderful. I teach a meditation class and enjoy the pleasure of group meditations it is very powerful. I even meditate in my car when the world start going to quickly and I need to breathe. I do walking meditations but not too often. Sunset it my favorite time as you said it is very profound as is meditation on the full moon. Meditating outside is nature is definatly my favorite.
