Folding Shopping Cart Discussion Deleted?

United States

I posted a discussion about the use of a folding shopping cart to carry groceries for my clients. It would ease the stress on my joints and arms. It is gone. Was there something wrong with this discussion?

I don't know what is going on lately, Elusive, but I do know trhat other's discussions have been deleted for no apparent reason. Did you try to contact admin about this? Members have the right to know why their discussions are being deleted.

I believe that a response would be appropriate when they delete a discussion so that we know what content we have posted that is inappropriate.

Friend, please add me to your friend list. I have a message for you from a mutual friend who has gotten crosswise with admin lately. He has a new account and would also send you a personal e-mail. Chapter 30 is ready.

I still have your discussion in my e-mail, so I read it. The only thing I can see, and I am noticing a lot lately, is that you talk of a medical condition, and a remedy. If myLot thinks you are providing medical advice without a license, they might ban your discussion. I know that is stretching it a bit. I wonder if you tried the same discussion, but titled it differently and did not say the name of a medical condition, if it would fly? Good luck. Maybe you did not pose a question, or something that they thought would stimulate a discussion, that is my second thought on the subject. Okay, enough of my thinking, it hurts!!!!!

The condition that I have is something that I have known about for quite a while. My doctor advised me not to carry heavy objects or it could cause more damage to the arm.

I understand the condition, I have had it too, in my feet, no less. Hubby gets it in his arm. I just know that I have seen some medically oriented discussions deleted. My hubby makes a point to add a phrase like, "What is your opinion?" or "Do you have a use for this?" to every discussion, so they cannot say you cannot respond to it.

I didn't see anything wrong with it. I just spotted it in my email, I went to make a comment and it was gone. I just made a comment about it on another discussion of yours. Who knows maybe them darn mylot gremlins are loose again.

I believe this is my first deleted discussion. It took me by surprise because I always try to adhere to the rules and post thoughtful, funny, or informational discussions.

Now I have found this discussion of yours and I don't see anything against the rule. It is unfair to this discussion. "Folding Shopping Carts - Not Just for Old Ladies ElusiveButterfly (7208) 10/2/2007 Many of my clients are now having me do shopping errands for them. This happens at least 2-3 times a week. The bags are so heavy to carry and the distance from my car and their home can be quite a ways to carry these bags. Last week I noticed that the tendonitis in my left arm was flaring up. Carrying the bags was stressing my arm. Not only do my arms stress, but my wrists and elbows hurt too. So, I am buying a folding shopping cart to keep in the trunk of my car. This will be to hold the bags of groceries and then I can wheel it to their house. I doubt that I will use the cart for any other purpose. But it will save me from injuring my arm any further.

I have sent a message to have them let me know where I went wrong with the discussion. Maybe I shouldn't have used old ladies in the title.

Yes, that's the original post that was deleted from our friend. I cannot see anything wrong with it against the guideline. It sounds weird to have this good and quality discussion deleted. Yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that discussion and also I think the cart is an excellent idea and a smart way to save yourself from injuries. Do you think that we can have mylot put back this discussion or is it possible? I hope so.

That's it? That's the original post that was deleted? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that discussion. I think you were hit by a MyLot self-appointed post police. By the way, I think the cart is an excellent idea and a smart way to save yourself from injuries.

I don't see anything wrong with this topic. It is sometimes really annoying for mylot to delete our discussions without any reason when you don't see anything that is against the rule of mylot. I had also one discussion deleted, which had more than 70 responses. I was so letdown when I discovered it. I hope that this one will not be deleted, but still I think that it will as mylot doesn't want to listen to our complaints. We will see in a couple of days. I wish you good luck, friend.

I know of a few people who had discussions posted and they were removed. They wrote to MyLot and if I remember correctly, the discussion was reposted. I believe I will have to write them to find reasoning for the deletion. This way I will be sure not to post another discussion that has similar content.

"I know of a few people who had discussions posted and they were removed. They wrote to MyLot and if I remember correctly, the discussion was reposted." Really? It would be nice if it can be reposted, but once it is deleted, they can still get it back without permanently deleted and emptied? "I believe I will have to write them to find reasoning for the deletion. This way I will be sure not to post another discussion that has similar content." Once bitten, twice shy. Yes, I guess that it is 100 percent because of the "old ladies" as you know, nobody is happy to admit herself to be an old lady and if there was an old lady who responded to your discussion, she must be the one who reported it to be against the guideline. This is what I guess.

I don't know if they go around checking messages or wait until someone reports it, but I had a response deleted because I added a link to my own personal website to show my Halloween pictures. The discussion was about Halloween so it was within the guidelines (or so I thought). Now I'm told no links at all are permitted. I think the rules are evolving - to put it mildly. Beware the trolls who think they are the MyLot authorities and report things willy-nilly.

If links are not allowed they have a lot of deleting to do. Many of the discussions I have encountered have links regarding the discussions they have started.

Oh well, guess we don't have much control over it. I really wish they would send a memo to us when they delete an article that we started. This would let us know where we went wrong and not repeat it.

I cannot see anything wrong with it. Here is a copy of the discussion. BTW I had a deleted discussion reinstated but was without the responses but at least they did admit to making a mistake. Many of my clients are now having me do shopping errands for them. This happens at least 2-3 times a week. Well that's just weird as I didn't even get an alert for it. Usually I get the alert first....before something is deleted. Perhaps it was one of those things where you press enter and it diasappears...do you recall if you posted tags as well?

I always add tags, but you know the mind of a menopausal woman, I can't remember what I used!

I noticed another subject about folding shopping carts by another person. I have a sneaky feeling she did not like the competition. If you search any one posting about shopping carts ====well, if yours got deleted, maybe hers should as well. I never noticed your subject though. I was away for two weeks.

I read it in my email and saved it to answer later. I didn't see aanything wrong with it. I was going to comment that urban dwellers have always used them and they are used all over Europe as well. It's because we don't use cars and either walk to the market or take the bus, so they come in handy. I've been using them for some 35 years.

They really do ease stress on the joints and your back. Carrying around heavy bags really does a number on your body.

Hi Elusive, I don't understand why they would delete a discussion with such helpful information. A folding shopping cart that can be kept in the car would be a great help in preventing injury and stress for many of us. It's a simple solution that we might not think of. I'm going to look for such a cart. I go to flea markets occasionally, and such a cart would be very useful for me.

I wish that I had one with me today. My arm is now a little tender from carrying the heavy bags to the client's house.

I am sad it disappeared, I have it in my email, and was going to respond to it, and it wasn't on the board. So, I see, myLot is still up to their little ol' tricks, eh? I hope that writing them will bring the discussion back, I'd like to reply.

There is a long list under Don'ts in the guidelines, but I can't really see anything there that would cover what you are talking about.

Does mylot not notify you when they delete a discussion? I have wondered if they do. I did not see your discussion as I have not been on mylot much for several months. I am trying to get back into it though.

How bizarre, I see nothing wrong with your discussion hun, I can't imagine why it would have been deleted. I would seriously consider a folding shopping cart for myself too.
