I love to garden. I grow mostly roses - I have over 30 rose bushes, rose trees and climbing roses. I also have day lillies, Shasta daisies, iris and lots of herbs. I don't have a place for vegetables right now, but I do love growing tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapenos, green beans and black-eyed peas.

Hi, doyoulikeme! Your name and profile should be to the left of the screen. Scroll down a little and you should see a box that says "Invite New Friends" scroll down to the bottom of that page til you see a box that says "mylot username." Put the name of the mylot user that you want to be on your friends list. That user will be sent a message and they have to approve you before they can be added to your list. It's a new security measure - good for the younger members of the site, especially. Nice to see you over here. I'll add you to my list!

Just pick a spot and start digging. Gardening isn't hard - honestly. I use seeds for everything except roses and those do take some dedication. You have to water them at least once a day - very carefully - if it's dry and windy, you need to water the twice a day. Check out the seed packages to see what kind of sun exposure your choices need. For example, tomatoes and strawberries need full sun. They just don't do well if they get partial shade. Green beans and black-eyed peas will accept some shade, but they need at least six hours of sun a day. The seed package, or the plant container should tell you how much water, too. Best advice on watering is to make sure the ground is dry before you water, otherwise the plant will drown - or the roots will rot. But you shouldn't let the ground stay dry for more than about 1/2 a day. Once your plants are in the ground for a few weeks, you'll get a feel for how much water they need and won't have to be constantly checking. I don't use pesticides, I used insectacidile soap to keep the bugs off - and I encourage the birds to come eat the bugs by putting out water for them.

I'm into berries. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, are always part of my garden. But right now, I'm in-between homes; so no berries except from the store.

I have a lot of flowers around the yard. I'm very bad with names of them, but I have some that bloom in pretty much every season. I plant impatients and begonias in the summer. I also have a vegetable garden. I usually grow tomatoes, peppers, corn, broccoli, beans, zucchini, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, watermelon, cantelope, and pumpkins.

I have a garden every year. This year I only had time to do some tomatos (regular & cherry tomatos) and green beans, but usually I also do pumpkins, bird-house gourds, squash, green peppers, sunflowers and 3 different types of beans. I'm glad I didn't have the time to get more planted this last spring though, nobody's gardens in this area did good this year...too much rain, and not enough sunny, warm days. I only got a handful of beans, and very few tomatos! I also do flower gardening and 7 flower bed areas (large yard!), I have: peonies, roses (5 different varieties), black-eyed Susans, iris, hummingbird vine and lotssssss more. I love to garden, it's my favorite thing to do in the summer!

I love peonies, Joyfulone. Unfortunately, they do not do well in Texas, where I live. We are having a pretty bad drought here. Wish we could trade some of your rain for some of our dry weather and even things out a bit for the gardners. :-D

I'd love to grow grapes. They are my favorite fruit. Hmmm...I think I'm going to have to look into putting in a grapvine or two.

I grow all types of things. I've got 8 rose bushes, 3 groupings of Iris, several trees that we planted, and in the summer we grow tomatoes and cucumbers. Tried growing pumpkins this year, but they didn't do so good.

Hi, promptwriter! I don't have any place for tomatoes. Took up all the space with roses. But I think I might have to make some space for them next year. I really miss having fresh warm tomatoes. Oh man, there's just nothing better!
