My youngest grandsons has Autism. Saturday morning was the Walk For Autism here in Minnesota. Myself, my wife, my daughter & my oldest grandson all walked for this charity. Between us we had raised a measley amount of just $340. Enough to get us each a free T-Shirt from the walk. This photo is of us all prior to the start of the walk. It was a short walk of just over 3 miles in length. The temperature at walk time was 82 and it was very humid. They had water stations set around the lake for the walkers. It was a fun filled day. We went shopping at Ikea afterwards then ate lunch out. Later we went to a movie as a family. I wish to thank the members that did donate to this cause under my name here as well from a link in a discussion I had started awhile back. You 2 know whom you are. Thanks you for your support.

Any amount raised makes a difference. I don't think the amount is small, as many people can't afford to donate now. Several of my friends were just laid off and I just gave one of them a job. This isn't my busy season, so just can't help all of my friends at this time. I wish that I would win the lottery, so I could help many people.

We are going to start collecting next year a few months earlier than this year. We want to collect a lot more next year. I think this may become a yearly tradtion with my daughter & grandsons.

Thank you very much. At last count Minneapolis raised just over $300,000 for the walk. That's a bit I'd say. The family loved it also.

Hi Grandpa Bob,
Causes like this are so wonderful, and do so much good. They really help to show that people care. I think that's an admirable amount raised by you and your family. As you (likely) remember, my four year old grandson is autistic. There's so much of this these days, it seems, and they need as much funding etc., as possible.

My grandson Hunter is 6 and is Autistic. He did not come for the walk as it was too much for him. He was with his dad.

I think that is totally neat that you would do something like that and had fun doing it as well.. Alot of people would go walk just because but alot would or charity.. I think it's a good way for people to get out there and let them be known for the hard work they do, do with these charities.. Even donating time is enough too if you can't do any more than that... People like you and your family do make a world of difference! Great job!

Grandpa I admire you so much for taking time to do a charity walk. I know you feel as though the 'measly $340' isn't much, but imagine if 1000 people had walked? Then imagine that 100 cities had created a charity walk? Grassroot efforts can really add up! Just think how good that walking was for your health too!! Kudos to you!
