opening Mail

I don't open it as neat as possible but I do try and be a bit neat when I open them usually I just open them but pulling the V piece and it normally opens... Well my other half tares it open as if there's a million dollar check in it or something... I ask him he why he does that I never do get a reason why.. So I am pretty neat and he's just letter ripper I guess you can say!

thats a cute letter opener, I usally just rip it open, not really sure why my mailbox is down the stret from me so alot of times I open the mail either in the car or when walking back home

I open my mail any way I can. Wellk, I do try to be neat, but if it doesn't turn out that way, I don't care. I must be too lazy to look for a letter opener.

I have never seen such a thing. I wish we could get those here in Canada. I usually use a knife to open my mail. I see some people tear the end of envelopes, that just makes me crazy. Take care my friend.

I try to be neat and sweet about it but then I get my fingers cut and boy that hurts! lol So when I can't open it then it's gets torn. I get it opened any way that I can! lol I know I know I should use a letter opener but it doesn't always obey me either! Sometime the envelope opens part way and the opener won't work anymore. GRRRRR!

I just rip the mail open. I used to use an opener and don't know what happened to it. I have a 2 year old grandson running around so I can't leave a knive or one of the long letter openers on my desk. The letter opener does do a neater job.

Hi, I tend to avoid opening the mail, instead, I let the hubby do it. I am always gone. I like the effect of a letter opener, and I have used them.

I always just rip it open. I used to use a letter opener when I worked at the insurance company to open the mail there. I used one there just because we had so much mail coming in and I would get paper cuts all the time.

Yea, you are right. I rip it open or use scissors :). I don't like letter openers because they have cut me so many times! Pablo

I am too cheap to buy a letter opener it appears so I just run my finger under the opening in the envelope and rip it open. I guess I should invest in one lol!

Hi GP Bob, actually it depends on where I am that I get the letter. if I am in the living room - there I have the letter opener. if I am in my office I use a knife left there especially for this reason :) No idea why I do it, I guess it's being used to, why else? :) Nice one on the photo :) TheFortunes

I always used to just rip open my mail with my hands. Howevr i started working as an office junior about 6months ago and one of my main duties is the dealing with incoming and outgoing mail. I started off using a metal letter opener but another girl in the office said a biro pen was easier to use. That is what i use now and if you do it right, it is just as neat as using a letter opener.

I just rip it open usually. If there is a check or something important in it I use a butter knife to open it. I have never owned a letter opener.

I insert a fingertip at the small opening on the corner where the glued/licked flap is located. I always take a little breath and hope that it will open neatly.I do hate it when it doesn't and I don't like the looks of stacked mail that has ragged edges, yet I am always too lazy to get a knife and open the envelopes neatly!

i don't always care to use a letter opener. it's actually depends on what type of mail i am opening, if it's something like a document from university i just rip it instantly, if it's a mail from a friend far away i would use a letter opener so i won't harm the mail! and if it's a bill like thing i just don't open it at all!LOL

I don't even own a letter opener. I just slide my finger under the flap to open or if the flap is sealed all the way to the edge, I'll use any ole knife. Not picky long as I get it open.

I would love to try using a letter opener sweety but I guess like everything else in this house it wouldn't be anywhere to be found when I needed it. I guess I will just have to stick to tearing open the envelope as quick as I can and getting it into the recylingxxx

Hello! Honestly, I don't have a letter opener grandpa bob and never had one..*hehe* I dunno why but I just never thought about it. Kinda weird no? Anyway, how I open my letter depends on who it from and what sort of letter it is. If it's a very personal letter or from someone I know and the envelope looks nice I wouldn't just rip the envelope, if it's some bills then I would just rip the envelope. *hehe*. I actually seldom rip the envelope grandpa bob, I use a small cutter sometimes but I always use a scissor in opening a letter, I would cut the side of the envelope, I find it cleaner and neater. *smile* oohhh..i'm not a neat freak too! *hehe* take care. ciao! c",)

Who get's paper mail these days. Most of my important stuff is done electronically.
