Does anyone like Popcorn Balls for the holidays?

popcorn and sticky corn syrup stuff that holds it together. Anyone have a good recipe for them.

I remember people giving these out at Halloween when I was a kid. I loved them. Unfortunately I do not know how to make them

Weren't they just awesome! My sister used to make them, but she's moved out-of-state, so I'm on my own. I'll have to call her for the recipe. Thanks for responding

POPCORN BALLS - POPCORN BALLS RECIPES
HOW ABOUT THREE? Marshmallow Popcorn Balls These are very easy popcorn balls to make. The marshmallows make them similar to crispy rice cereal bars that are so popular. Made with marshmallows, these are sweet, crispy, and chewy. Everyone's favorite combination! recipe yields: 8 popcorn balls PREP TIME 10 Min COOK TIME 20 Min READY IN 30 Min INGREDIENTS 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn 6 tablespoons butter 5 cups miniature marshmallows DIRECTIONS 1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Set aside. 2. Add vegetable oil to a 4 quart saucepan, and heat over high heat. When oil is hot, add popping corn. Keep pan moving constantly. When corn stops popping, remove from heat. Put popcorn in prepared pan. 3. Melt butter In a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in marshmallows and cook until melted, stirring constantly. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn and mix with spoon to coat evenly. 4. Let mixture cool slightly. Smear butter on your hands or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Mix popcorn with your hands so that it is evenly coated. 5. Form popcorn into 8 balls. Caramel Popcorn Balls Easy to make and delicious. Kids Love them!recipe yields: 15 popcorn balls INGREDIENTS 5 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 1/2 cups unpopped popcorn 1/4 cup butter 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Add 1 tablespoon of the oil to a 4 quart saucepan, and heat over high heat. When oil is hot, add 1/2 cup of popping corn. Keep pan moving constantly. When corn stops popping, remove from heat. Place popped corn in oven to keep warm. Repeat until all corn has been popped. Set aside. 2. In a medium saucepan with a candy thermometer inserted, combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Stir well and bring to boiling over medium heat. Stir in condensed milk; simmer, stirring constantly, until thermometer reads 238 degrees F (114 degrees C). Stir in vanilla. 3. Pour caramel over popped corn and stir to coat. Butter hands lightly; shape popcorn into balls about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Best Ever Popcorn Balls Sweet, crunchy balls of popcorn. recipe yields: 20 popcorn balls PREP TIME 10 Min COOK TIME 10 Min READY IN 20 Min INGREDIENTS 5 quarts popped popcorn 3/4 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup margarine 2 teaspoons cold water 2 5/8 cups confectioners' sugar 1 cup marshmallows DIRECTIONS 1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the corn syrup, margarine, cold water, confectioners' sugar and marshmallows. Heat and stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Carefully combine the hot mixture with the popcorn, coating each kernel. 2. Grease hands with vegetable shortening and quickly shape the coated popcorn into balls.

You can also add food coloring or candies to match the different holiday colors or wrap them accordingly (orange yarn for Halloween and red or green ribbons for Christmas, etc.)

I love popcorn balls and one year i went crazy for Halloween and made up tons of popcornballs,caramel corn, and the marshmellow popcorn balls. The marshmellow popcorn balls was a major hit, So I have been making them ever since. They are easy to make just like Rice Kripsy treats. We have added extras like m&ms,little mini kisses,reese pieces, or just drizzle with melted white and milk chocolate they are good and they are the first thing to go. So do you plan on making them this year?

Adding marshmallows into the mix makes the popcorn balls stay soft longer. You have to mix these fast though before marshmallows cool down.

Mazola No Stick corn -oil cooking spray 3 qt Freshly popped popcorn 1 c Karo light corn syrup 1 c Sugar 1/2 t Salt 1 t Vanilla Spray large roasting pan with cooking spray. Add popped corn; keep warm in 250 degree F. oven. In heavy 2-quart saucepan, combine corn syrup, sugar and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Cook without stirring 10 minutes or until temperature reaches 290 degrees F. on candy thermometer. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Slowly pour over popcorn, stirring to coat evenly. Cool popcorn, stirring, just until mixture can be handled. Immediately spray hands with cooking spray. Quickly shape popcorn into 3-inch balls.
