impulse buying

Are you an impulse buyer? I noticed when i go out with my friends or family a lot of people in the malls were buying things "on sale". To the point that it seemed they no longer needed those things, But since those items are on sale, and maybe they taught they will going to save from it, they are enticed to buy those unnecessary items. Impulse buying. I am also like them sometimes. And I hate myself for it. lol

I used to be this way, but as I have gotten older, and looked at some of those bargains I bought, and sometimes never used, I have gotten less impulsive in my shopping. They say one good way to look at a purchase is to ask yourself "How many hours would I have to work to pay for that item?". Sometimes it is a real eye opener, and it makes it easy to see that it is not worth that many hours on my part.

I think I am an impulse buyer because whenever I find something interesting online, I will buy it if it is not so expensive. I have bought lots of things via the net.

In most cases when I go to downtown with my wife or with my friends, I would like to buy things when they are on sale, especially clothes. They usually give a lot of discount when the clothes for summer or any season that will not be sultable for the new season. It is really a very good price for those clothes and they are still so good quality. The best time for us to buy things on sale here in China is October 1st, our seven-day-long National Day. It is hard not to be an impulse buying during this period if you go downtown for some shopping. Also in the supermarkets here they often have some sales promotion activities and the articles would be on sale to attract lots of customers and to be impulse buying is unavoidable as well.

I am the furthest thing from being an impulse buyer! In fact, I might be the opposite of an impulse buyer. lol I deliberate and deliberate before I make purchases in stores or online. ;) I think I may be missing out on some of the fun of impulse buying. :-)

For the most part, I am not an impulse buyer but I have done it on occasion when there is a good sale going on. I usually plan what I am going to buy before I go out and then leave the store or stores after getting that item. There are too many things that I would like to buy but can not afford to buy at the time.

i am not like that often.. when ihave extra money and i dont care if i spend it or not sure ill spurlge a little.. but usually if i dont need it or my daughter cant use it then i wont buy it... my mother on the other hand is hilarous.. she is such a goof when it comes to items on sale/ clearnace.. if were in a store and she sees someting on clearance for $2 that was originally $9 she has to buy it... its a great deal she says regardless of what the item is... she has a whole shopping bag full of those glad plugins not the air fresnherners just the plug in piece themselves becuas they were on clearnace for 25 cents one time... she wont spend the money to buy the refills because they are "too" exspensive but she has a bag full of the plug ins ust sitting there..!! its hilarous!

I am not an impulse buyer. I am so cheap that I even hate paying interest charges and I am so fussy that it has to be just right and be exactly what I want so I do not do buy something on the spur of a moment. Even I supposedly do, I have been thinking of it for such a long long time, that the impulse shopping is really planned and I just was lucky enough to have the money to buy it.

hi iza. There are times that when I'm at the mall, even if it's not included in my budget, I tend to buy things for my son. Usually, when I see a cute toy or a very good book, I buy it for him. Even if he has so many books already. And there are times, that I buy things for the house. I make a list when I have to go to the grocery. BUT, I always get off track! I've tried to tell myself not to buy impulsively, but I always do it. So, the only thing that I can do to avoid the impulsive buying, is to stay at home and only go to the grocery if I really have to.

Actually, I impulsively pick it up, then as Im walking through the rest of the store I talk myself out of buying it and end up putting it back. lol Im so terrible about second guessing myself, but I guess in this sense its a good thing. I sure do save myself lots of money. Dont hate yourself, just reason with yourself and weigh the "need" and "want" list out. More times you wont really need it, it will just be a want and we can all get by without that. Bay Lay Gray xx

hi izathewzia, I would have to say I am an impulsive buyer when it comes to food. I buy what is on sale, and sometimes it takes a long time to get it all used up. As for clothes, I learned to be a bit more conservative. Now let me go shopping with my grandchildren, and I am very impulsive. If they want something, no matter what, I will consider it because I know they would never have it any other way. Really upsets my children though. Happy posting..

Hi.. I agree with you about impulse buying. I have a friend who does that everytime we shop together. Last xmas we were shopping and found really nice slippers on sale. I bought a pair for myself and one as a gift. However she bought TEN pair. When I asked her who they were for she responded, "They're for me. I like them and I'll put them up in case they don't have them in stock again". My response was an opened mouth stare. I also noticed every once in awhile while shopping with her I would impluse shop. I didn't like it about myself either.
