Mahatma Gandhi one of the greatest leaders the world has ever seen united a nation and got it freedom by using non violence....his message of peace and non violence was so strong that it resonated in various parts of the globe helping others and giving them the courage to fight on for their freedom and to fight against oppresion...However this great leader who has been the corner stone for peace in the 19th century, whose ideals have been followed by Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and others has been denied the Nobel Peace Prize....When several others who have followed in his footsteps have been honoured by the Swedish committee, it simply failed to look at Gandhi...however the UN recentle declared 2nd Oct, the birthday of the great man as "The Internationl Day of Nonviolence".Long live the great man's ideals...

Mahatma Gandhi is above and much more above than Nobel Peace Prize! When I am writing this sentence I have two things in my mind very clear: One is the fact regarding peace prize which is giving as life time work achievement! Mahatma Gandhi just done that work with a concern from within and deep understanding of doing that by heart! So the peace itself is the prize for him, not any thing less than that! Second is regarding Mahatma Gandhi that, he really need not peace prize because his work proved naturally that he has worked for peace without any kind of reward concept! It was really natural for him and so he was above all such prize oriented things! Well, as well wisher of his work we just follow to spread the peace would be the great prize for him! Lets give such prize to him!
