Mary's Lamb
Think carefully about
what you will be reading.
This is a new one for me...
Mary! had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
T'wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
If you agree, please pass this on.
It is said that 86% of Canadian,
American & British people believe in God.
Why don't we just tell the other 14%
to be quiet and sit down????

Wow, that's really interesting! I have never heard the poem done beyond the first couple of verses. Where did you find the whole poem?
Every time I hear that poem, I think of my mom's story about her having a lamb that would follow her around, even to school.

I couldn't agree with you more. It saddens me that they are trying to take God out of everything. We as Christians need to be taking a stronger stand and not letting them do this. I know it seems like nowadays Christians have become a minority, but i really think that some Christians are just afraid to stand up and take a stand for fear of what people will say. I, for one, will not be one of those. My children pray everyday at lunch, at school, over their meal and I dare someone to tell me that my children are not allowed to do that. It has become okay for buddist and any other religion to speak out in their behalf, but Christianity has become something that every one wants to be all hush hush about. it saddens me and I know it saddens God. God bless you for writing this.

I was actually sent this in an e-mail from a pastor friend of mine. In the old days, people would pray for holy boldness. People were more willing to die for what they believed. It is not like that anymore, not much at least.
The reason that so many other religions are able to go forth is because they are not the truth, so they are no threat to the devil's plan

I like the way you talk that bold talk. It really lifts my spirit up. We want to have a covering at school too though. Not just for our children, but for the other kids, and the school staff. If the devil can't get to your kids, he will get to someone who can have an effect on your little ones.

this is so true. Christians have to find a new strength and no that by standing up for what they believe in they are defeating the Devil's plan. The devil has no place in my home, nor in my family. I boldly prounounce and pray over my home everyday. I pray over my children. More people need to stand up and say, " You will not defeat us. We are God's children and you have no power here."

It will probably not happen again in this life time. This is a sign that the world is coming to an end. This is the reason that it is so important to teach the kids at home. There will come a time when we will not even be able to fellowship as a church or even have Bibles in our homes. This is the reason that we need to get the word in our spirits right now.

So true. What's wrong with silent prayer time at the very least? It could be allowed to let the kids have quiet time everyday and pray. It may help cut down with a lot of problems. It shouldn't be a problem. No one would force the other ones to pray.

Hi Rozie37! That is a very nice poem. It is true that if each and everyone of us will welcome Him in our hearts, then I am sure that love and peace will reign within all of us. To pray is communing with our Lord and that is the most effective way for me to always find peace inside my heart. Take care and have a nice day, my friend.

This is a tough one because of the diversity in our public schools as opposed to decades ago. Silent prayer can never be outlawed because we can do anything we wish to do with our thoughts and God will forgive us if we aren't kneeling or folding our hands properly when we pray. But you say "teach our kids to pray"; whose prayer? It would be somewhat worrisome to me if children in public schools were to be taught from the bible in the classroom and led in prayers that may not be of the faith their parents were trying to teach them. There's another discussion I'm reading right now as I skip back and forth online about whether birth control is a sin; this is just one issue but what if a family believes on way on this and the teacher another way? I just fear that bringing religion back into the public schools would take us down the proverbial "slippery slope". It's something that at first glance seems perfectly pure and innocent and meant for the benefit of the kids but that depends on who's doing the teaching.
