Do you use white lies to preserve a relationship?

I think, a relationship would not last if one tells his/her partner only the truth and nothing but the truth. Did you?

There are things better left unsaid or just deny it. These white lies sometimes protects us from a bigger disaster. And sometimes, even if we feel that something's wrong but we sometimes choose not to hear the truth. We deny ourselves of knowing the reality so we won't be hurt.

sorry raul but i don't agree with you. i still believe that white lies will only make things complicated. on the other hand, honesty will make the relationship if not perfect, at least healthy. telling the truth won't cause you and your partner trouble. it will only test how much you love each other. that's where trust and respect come in. in my case, i don't hide anything from my BF. he can browse my phone's messages without worrying anything. he could go through my things anytime he wants. he could check on me anytime when we are not together. we might have different perspective when it comes to a relationship but for me, i would love to have someone who is man enough to face everything. :)

Well, its nice that your boyfriend understands you, but if you do you have male close friends that you go out with, I think there will come a time that there will be a misunderstanding between you and your boyfriend. I am not saying that you do not tell you boyfriend that you go out with other male friends, but you don't haveto tell him all the things that may have transpired during your date. From your statement, I presume that you are a true girlfriend to your boyfriend, but sometimes its better for him not to know some things that might hurt him, since you won't really know what might hurt him. Your boyfriend is very lucky to have you. thanks for the response abi.

thanks raul..i think i am also lucky to have someone who trust me. i guess, trust is really important in a relationship. regarding the date i will have with a close friend, definitely not a problem with him. he knows all my friend. and when i say friend, he can trust me that nothing intimate can transpire. i value friendship so much that i don't go over the boundaries. :) and btw, my BF is my bestfriend.. :)
