We all have culture and we are grown in certain kind of culturl environment. So many learnings we have got from our culture. Knowingly or unknowingly we really learned from our immediate culture, which are concern for us! The meaning of culture by our own understanding mostly indicates traditions, customs, lifestyles, social and civilization based overall pattern of beliefs and behavioural standards as well as following life with all such as IDEALS and VALUES! Are you able to name IDEALS and VALUES learned from your culture?

I am of mixed racial heritage and I tend to lean towards a lot of my ancestral teachings that are Native American. I love the old traditions and lifestyles and the social activities that abounded in yesteryear. The families were far more unified and bonded and though there were disagreements they were often handled much differently. The women did more cooking and gathering and gardening and the men did the hunting and or providing. It was a different time and culture and I yearn for that peace sometimes in my own life. It fascinates me how society has become so BUSY that the traffic is snarled and tangled beyond belief that it can take 2 hours to go what should take 30 minutes when the traffic is flowing. What kind of life is this? Why do people have more anxiety and distress now days? That is such an easy answer...look at peoples commutes and lifestyles and how everything is at such a fast pace. Its sad. I love the ideas and values of yesteryear where family came before the neighbor or such. Thanks for asking such a great thought provoking question. I love it!

YOu are welcome, Countrymom! You have really provided value to this discussion by your clear understanding based on human emotion that the peace and togatherness were there when the things were done and followed by needed pace and attention rather than today's pace and anxiety! Thanks for adding such insite!

hi heal well, me as a person, my attitude, my clothes, my food is all the influence of my culture. My parents have given me all the values which forms a part of the culture as well as my family.i come from a narrow mind family which inspite of entering the present era still believes in all the cultural values which now the people think are outdats and low style of living and not happening. But i am happy the way i have born and brought up. Being culutural to me doesnt mean taking god's name always or through out the day but definately once in a day.It has given me the values to celebrate the festivals, keep the family trends live like performing some kind of rituals on certain auspiciour days.Doing all those things which my forfathers used o do and my parents have kept them alive and so will i.
