So since I want to get the Xmas shopping started early again this yr I had the kids write out their Xmas lists last week..I'm planning on starting the shopping this week...Then today I realized that I need to make a list for myself and start emailing my husband links to part of my list.....
Do you write wish lists in your family? Is it just the kids that do it or do you caregivers write them as well?

We do write Christmas lists in our family.
My Grandma, my sister, my dad, my mom, and an aunt or uncle (we married adults draw names) a piece (my hubby's secret santa and my secret santa) all get a copy.
I usually leave off the things I'm going to get my hubby off his though and go with that.
For me I usually give him the more expensive things I want and a few inexpensive things. My lists are rather long. Not that I expect even a portion of it but I love to not know what I'm getting AND it gives them a variety of things to get me as well in case they can't find something. I love to read so it's mostly books and movies. Of course if you know me really well and find something I love that's cool too. You don't have to shop from my list. I just find it easier because I'll end up with things I don't like or need. That's our take on it in our family.
My hubby's family though is different. They might ask what we want but more often than not they just go and get something.
For the kids in our family I usually ask them what they want and try to get it for them. It doesn't always work though...sometimes they end up with something different.

Yes the adults as well as the kids write out a list every year. The adult always get togehter and discuss who will buy what for who, so there will be no two gifts alike. Of course there are always extra surprise gifts as well.

It's usually just the children who write out Christmas lists. I'll generally tell DH a few things that catch my eye while I'm buying for the kids...but as a rule, I prefer to get whatever he chooses for me on his own. He always comes up with some GREAT gifts...things I might not have thought of, but that I always love.

My mom always asks us for a list of at least three things we'd really like to get, of course we list off like 10 or 15 things still, but that way it helps her figure out what she can get us, my brothers, sister-in-law, friends and I all do the same for each other too.
