Thanks to my son showing me that my pc has the capability of watching a DVD on it I thought I would try my favorite site fearnet.com (of course!) and lo and behold I now watch full length movies on my pc. I realize I'm a bit behind the times and kids have been doing it for years but it amazes me that I can do it. I settle in a comfy chair or turn the monitor so I can sit on the couch and I'm all set! I guess I'm lucky because I finally have a decent, up to date computer because I know my previous computer could never have done it or done it as well as this one does. Have you ever watched a full length movie on your pc? Do you enjoy it or not?

Well, ctry, I am way behind the times because I have never watched a movie on my pc-only trailers. I would like to learn more about how to do it though. Maybe it would take me away from a couple of game sites that I'm always on. So, tell me how I can do this, OK?

I followed the link you so thoughtfully provided, ctry, and now I am all set to watch movies on Fearnet.com. My only problem is that I just haven't had the chance to watch anything yet.:)

Well, I hope you like horror movies because that's all you will get on fearnet! There are lots of other movie sites you can check out. I'll see if I can find some for you and pm them too you. In the mean time enjoy!

I just got a laptop about 2 weeks ago. My desktop is a windows 98 that didn't even have a cd recorder yet alone dvd drive. So... my laptop is even HD compatible! wooord up! Needless to say I have a 32" LCD HD TV and Surround sound so I don't really need the laptop DVD... but I'm sure one day I will use it. I've watched some special feature dvd stuff on my laptop already.

It sounds like you have quite a set up there...super! My monitor isn't even that big but I enjoy the movies anyway. My last computer was also win 98 and could never have the capacity to do it either.

That's right. I remember you mentioning not liking vista. which, i now have and like btw. but yeah my laptop screen is 15". I dig it. It's pretty awesome for some stuff but I'd much rather use my 32" for movie watching :)

I watch full movies and tv shows on my mac. Even though macs are more expensive It is better. When I had a laptop with windows it would crash and easily catch viruses. With my mac I hardly get any problems from it.

I've never had a mac or even used one for that matter. My brother tells me that's the only thing he will use.

We do it all the time. In fact we rarely ever watch movies on our regular television anymore. We get them online and watch them on the computer so that we don't have to buy the dvds at all. I set up the computer so that when we watch movies the monitor can been seen from the couches so we all can watch.

Since I live alone it's easy setting up my monitor for me to be able to watch the movies on the couch. I don't think it would be very good for more than one or two people.

No, I don't watch any movies on my computer. I wouldn't be able sit here for so long to watch a movie. I can sit here all day if I am doing something, but not just watching a movie. Part of the movie experience for me is lying around & relaxing. Which I can't do just sitting here. I know other people who can watch movies on TV though.

I would love to watch movies on my pc. However, my system is too slow for that. I need to increase my memory before I can do that. I tried to watch a tv show but there were too many pauses and freezing. I need to get some software that will enable me to do this. My computer can with more memory. I have never heard of fearnet.com

fearnet.com is probably a regional thing. It comes with comcast cable because it is one of their channels. Of course it's all horror movies and horror realted stuff. When I had my old pc I could never have watched them.

My computer is fantastic..a Mac...the CPU or tower part is actually built into the monitor itself and I can burn CDs/DVDs and playback all on the same drive...I do like watching movies on my computer since my monitor is a 17" while my TV is a puny 13"..LOL..but I don't watch too many movies on my computer as I don't want to wear it out too much--I know, I know, I know...I'm so cautious with my computer but then I waited four/five years to get one...so it's my "precious"---(mmm...you and your horror movies and me..the Lord of The Rings addict)

No I haven't yet but I plan on it some day because hubby has a movie downloaded on here that I want to see but haven't gotten around to it yet. One reason is because our computer is in the office and with office chairs to sit in. I'm an antsy person and can't sit still for very long. I've always got to be doing something or I'll go batty and sitting in an office chair for that long would drive me nuts! lol

I think my screen is just a 13 inch but I'm fine with that also. I use the full screen option and it's awesome.

the video rental company offers free downloads each month along with the regular membership offers, but sadly I can not take advantage of this - not only is my computer to low on random access memory it also only connects at a 26.4 kb dial up. tsk tsk.

Yes, I often watch movie on my pc. Because I can easily download new movies from internet through P2P software. I do not pay any fee for that. Alough it is illegal in other countries, law permits people use it for nonprofit purpose without paying fee.
