Would you wait over one month to get paid for work?

Funny thing about working online, most companies want you to do work and then wait several months to get paid. If real world employers made their employees wait a month or two for a check, would anyone have a job? Probably not. What's your view on this? Do you think it's fair that online companies make their hard working affiliates wait so long to get paid? Amazon is notorious about paying their affiliates every three months. Or, at least they did when I was working with them. One survey company that I was working with took over a month to issue a check. And, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Has that ever happened to you?

don't think I like it but if it's only pocket money I don't mind. if it's big enough for mortgage then I won't be that patient. that's why I don't like payment by check, especially I have problems with mail being delivered to another address even if my address is correctly written.

I have and don't like it and by the time I get it, I usually forget it is coming. It makes for a nice surprise in the mail.

Unfortunately that is the position I find myself in every year when school resumes. In our area schools pay once a month, and that is on the twentyfifth. Time sheets go in on the fifteenth, and if you do not have at least twenty hours, or if the bookkeeper does not want to start payroll, that first month is really long. I have been at work since August 13 or so, and I got my first check September 25. I keep the job for the insurance and for the retirement program that is being paid into. I have a second job to carry me over to all of the days that do not get paid because I am classified, not certified, and if the teachers have a meeting and kids are not in school, I do not work. I hope, by the end of this school year to have something else to tide me over instead of an actual, physical, away from home second job.

I never experienced that because I'm just new on working online. But in my own opinion, it's a very long time if you would wait for a month for your payment. You've been working so hard but you have to wait for your payment for a long time.

I don't think I would like working at a real world job that took more than a month to pay. I would need the money before then to cover expenses that would come up specifically because of the job. Things like child care, gas money, etc would all have to be paid. Online it's not as big of a deal to me. My husband's paycheck is what we use to budget, so there isn't a specific time I need the money that I make online. It's for saving, Christmas gifts, fun money, etc. I do belong to one site that takes about 2.5 months to send out the giftcards that you earn. It's a little bit annoying, but I still spend time there everyday. They do pay, it just takes a while.

I'll take my check now ! - pay check and stub
I see it as "money in the bank"....I belong to one site where I make about $60 in 2 months and they send out checks so it takes another month for me to get the check. This is the reason I love being a cha cha guide. You get a debit card and an account with an online bank so your money is available as soon as you hit the 'pay me now' button. Of course in "real life" there is no way I would wait a month for my pay!

That's a really good point! I don't think a one month wait is all that horrible considering real life jobs can have a 3 week wait sometimes, but 2-3 months is a bit much. Just imagine the expenses a person racks up over 3 months of going to work. If real world employers made people wait that long for a paycheck very few people could afford to get a job. With online companies it's a little different because the expenses to work are usually different. I don't have a problem with the once a month system. Any longer than that and people may start to worry that it's a scam and they're wasting their time.
