Australia doesn't celebrate halloween, but my son, who will be five next month, sees it on telly all the time, so starting last year, my wife and I put up scarey decorations, and he dresses up in some sort of costume, and we have scarey treats. This year, he was a skeleton, after it took me over an hour, cutting out white masking tape and shaping bones on a black t-shirt for him!!

Yes, he was very cute, but that seems to be the norm for him!! Could be I'm more than a little biased though, lol! And yes, he had a lot of fun.

We gave out candy but it was actually pretty disappointing. We were expecting 10-20 kids, and I have made up treat bags with a variety of candy in them. But even includeing my best friend bringing her little girl up to trick-or-treat we only got a total of 5 trick or treaters. And they came in pairs. So now I have a bunch of halloween treat bags and nothing to do with them. :(

I didnt do either...Well we never hand out candy here since we live in the country and nobody comes to the houses around here...My kids are too old for trick or treating and they much prefer to do junk food/movie night at home AND we do our Samhain celebration BUT this yr we did nothing at all because I was terribly ill yesterday (doing a bit better at the moment but starting to feel horrid again :-( )

We gave out candy, and it was our first Halloween together, we've been together for 3, but I had to go into work one year and last year I was out of state and he was home, so it was great fun. We had our own type of decoration, we pulled my blazer up by our front portch, his police car behind it (lights on) and strung crime scene tape from one vehicle to the other and he crawled under my blazer with only legs and one arm sticking out, by the candy bowl. For small kids he made sure they knew he was just pretending like they were in their costumes, most kids weren't startled but some of the older kids and adults, were really funny......about 1/2 adults weren't sure if it was staged or real, lol. And there was no fake blood or anything like that, some took pictures, a lot got a good laugh when they went to get some candy and his hand moved or he would say Happy Halloween! lol and it served a good purpose ( little did we know) it slowed traffic way down.

Hello Pattie, The kids look so cute..I hope they had fun...I was in bed at 7pm..Party pooper that I am...We decided not to give any candy out this year...From what I saw of the my grandsons bags from school they made out in the candy department, without even going house to house..LOL...The Bumble Bees costumes are lovely....Have a good day...

I stayed home to hand out candy until my boyfriend got home and then I took the kids out while he handed put candy. We had around 35 kids this year and just about gave out all of our candy.

We had candy to give out, but only had one hobgoblin show up. It was my grandson. He got half of the candy in the bowl.

I gave out candy. I opened my gate and turned on my porch light. This lets the kids in my neighborhood know that I am open for business so to speak. It was a little cold to leave the door open this year. Last year was warmer and I sat out in the yard and gave out candy. I love seeing the costumes every year. I expecially love to see the really little kids. You know the two to five year olds that are too shy to even look you in the face. They say trick or treat to the ground and run after they get the candy back to their moms. I love halloween because of the great costumes. I look forward to next year already.

I did not went out nor gave candies last halloween. I was living here in the housing accomodation provided by the company that I am currently working with. in our village where I live, we used to give candies to children that go trick or treating. it is nice and you would also be happy when you see the happy faces of children that receive the candies you give. did you go trick or treating last halloween?

I gave it out when I arrived home at 7. I gave out plenty of candy too, but this year not as many trick or treaters to give to. I have a surplus for the first time in years.

Neither my apartment is in the back of an old house. Plus there aren't many kids in my neighborhood. I'm reall not into the party scene. I will be buying some halloween candy once Krogers puts it on sale.

I actually had to work late on Halloween. I work in a library, too, and just about every kid was gone by 6 pm, so it was very quiet. Where I live, it's a gated building surrounded by senior complexes. While our building is not a senior complex, it was originally designed to be and is not conducive for children as it has narrow balconies and no play area. We have a couple of kids here, but we hardly ever see them. In the fourteen or so years I've lived here, I only had one family knock on my door for Halloween. One year, I did buy candy because people would leave the gates open and kids used to wander in and out of the building, but no one tricked or treated that year. There are kids in the neighborhood about a block or two away, but the street we live on is busy and the neighborhood is not very safe, so they probably don't want to walk down to our place.

Actually, I didn't do either one. We stayed home, played on our pc's and had a quiet evening. I did have my niece and nephew over earlier this week in order to get their halloween goodies. "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS" **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Hi Hun, We took our daughter (16 months) for her first year of trick or treating. Then we had to show her off to our friends so by the time we got home all of the kids were done trick or treating. Everyone thought my daughter made such a cute Tigger! Hope you and your kids had fun! Love & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I took my son out, so I didn't give out any candy. When we got home I still didn't give any out. We don't have a porch light, so even if I had candy to give out, there wouldn't have been a lot of people coming to the door. If anyone had come by after we got home, I would have dug into my son's candy to hand some out. Actually when I sorted it I set aside the stuff my son doesn't really like to have ready for handing out.
