Divorce

Divorce should be available to anyone who wants it. Why? If you make it more difficult to obtain, then what's to stop me from killing my husband if he's abusive? If he rapes our child, if we had one, and I can't divorce him and take our child away, what's going to stop me from killing him? He's obviously not going to stop doing what he's doing whether it be molesting our child or hitting me. Divorces are an easy way out. People get divorced for all sorts of reasons. What if your husband or wife can't stay faithful? Are you supposed to live the rest of your life married to a man or a woman who can't remain faithful? What if he or she brings you home a case of the clap or even worse, AIDS? Divorce is not a bad thing nor should it be harder to get.

Marriage should be for life because I believe what the Bible says: those who are bound by God should not be separated by man. This is just my own opinion on the issue however, if we need to be realistic about family situations nowadays, the answer to this may depend on the situation married people are in within their relationship. If both husband and wife just can't stop yelling and shouting, throwing things, and breaking faces (these are very infectious diseases in marriage), then there's no reason for them to stay together anymore. Regarding your second concern whether divorce should be made easier or more difficult, I think there is a legislative procedure to be followed for that. It is not on making divorce easier or difficult but it should be on the thoroughness of calculation on the circumstances surrounding the divorce application.

I think marriage should be for life...because it is a sacred bond of love, and divorce must be made more difficult in order to maintain this sacred bond.
