red roses before officially dating?

I was given red roses as a gift from the guy I'm seeing before we actually went out! Would any guy seriously give a girl a dozen red roses if he didn't intend to have a serious, romantic relationship with her?

Sending roses doesn't always mean that you want to get serious--after all, sometimes people get them from their bosses and family members, as well as from simply comfortable friends. However--coupled with everything else--I would say that this guy has it bad for you, even if he hadn't even sent that first flower! Best wishes! Well if his feelings are genuine then i would call him a sweet guy and charming enough to know the basic weaknesses of a girl. But then not all guys that do that can be called charming guys as there are plenty of guys who knows this tactics already. Just be kept aware to know more of his real intentions. Don't get carried away immediuately as most girls do when they are given flowers. Appreciate it but then do not get carried away with the gesture.

hi rsa101! yes, i definitely kept my feet on the ground when i received the roses. i simply told him thank you, they were beautiful and that he was very thoughtful. he told me that he wanted to send them to me because we were talking at a party the other night and he had to cut out early due to illness. the card attached spoke of apology, but when i saw that the roses were "red", i couldn't help but think that he had a little crush on me! thanks for your response!

Red roses are always nice, sweet gifts. To me, roses are very romantic, but you can never tell what people are thinking. We couldn't really tell you what to feel about it, because we don't know the guy. Maybe if we knew him we would be able to tell you what we think. But for right now, I say it is sweet! And it is always nice to recieve flowers from a guy!

hi mizcash! yeah i thought it was kinda forward to send "red" roses before we even went out...but i knew that he probably had romance on his mind when he sent them because we ended up kissing each other after only a couple of dates! thanks for your response!

It's really pretty romantic if he has genuine intentions or if his feelings are for real. Sometimes, there are guys who gives romantic gifts at first and then when their object of affection finally falls for them, they seem to loose their romanticism. Be careful though because not all romantics are sincere.

hi michecu! i definitely appreciate your input because i was somewhat concerned about seeming too easy to please..i want to have romance so bad but i know that i need to continue on with my life as normally as possible. i have been guilty of changing my life to fit around another guy's because i was so in love with him and i have learned from that experience. i will do my best to keep my wits about me but still enjoy the attention. thanks again for your response!

Hmmm, I smell romance in the air. I think he is really wanting to have a serious relationship with you. Giving you red roses might be his own way of "testing the waters". Goodluck.
