We say that God is one . Nothing on this can happen without his consent. The destiny is predetermined by him. We are all the children of God! Then why God has made us to come up with so many religions ? Whjen every one ultimately want to fpollow the instructions of God or to travel on the path shown by God then why this variation or differences? Can't we all a single rel;igion of 'Humanity'? Your opinion please!

Thats is a very dicey question and I think the inherent contradictions and hyporacy in religion just proves that its a fraud. I think that religion gives people who are perhaps less well equipped to deal with everyday life somewhere to turn to explain why things are the way they are, why people are so horrible to each other, why there are wars, why their loved ones die. By blaming god or claiming it was "gods will" it gives the comfort that it was out of their control and thus clears their conscience. If you ask those questions to someone religious they will tell you that your religion is the only one and all the others are wrong and people of other religions will say the same about yours. I think what would be better for mankind is if we discarded religion as its really just a relic of the dark ages, when man thought lightning was when god was made but we now know its electrical discharge caused by atmospheric conditions. If we dropped all religions and united as a people not as a faith then it would lead towards ending century long feuds and wars, bigotry, racism and many other things either caused directly or in-directly by religion.

Nice questions. But, I would like to ask you back, did you God create so many religions or was it man who created them? Who created religion and gave it a name and a form? I don't remember even a single saint or mystic or yogi or rishi in history ever create a religion or a cult and give it a name or a path. Not even a single saint from India ever gave Sanatana Dharma the name as Hinduism and then said, all shall follow. Buddha never said, "from now now, I create the religion Buddhism, and you shall be baptised into it hence forth". Neither did Christ ever say, "my teachings shall be known as Christianity". All of them only preached eternal truth. The truth of liberation and Self-realisation. It was a path of wisdom which they shared a common truth. It was the wisdom of love, non-violence, selfless service and universal brotherhood. They created a path and not a religion. The meaning of religion was nothing but love, tolerance, non-violence, devotion and selfless service. These are the virtues every religion preaches. So what's wrong, if these virtues were preached by different saints, and then once they preached, the path took a name, and people started discriminating. Now, tell me, who created religion.God or man? We have ocean all over the globe but it's called under different names, but the taste of the water is salty. The taste is the same, but the names are different. Similarly, God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient. But he is worshiped and realised in different ways under different names, but still the truth realised is the same. We call water in Hindi Paani, in Tamil Tanni, in Kannada Neeru, Malayalam Vellam and so on. But do we discriminate each other because we don't call water the same everywhere? Do we say, "oh my God, he's calling it paani and not water. I can't drink that. He doesn't belong to our community at all because he doesn't call it water." We don't try convincing everybody, no, water is the only truth, and there is no other truth on earth other than water, and stop calling it paani and start convincing everybody to have water. It's the same stupid thing man is doing in the name of religion. All religions possess the same truth, but he doesn't know. Under water everything is the same. Everything looks the same. But, man is just discriminating for his selfish accomplishment. All religions are one. And they all behold the same truth. But it's the allegory of the water. Since water is such a simple thing realised, as long as we get to drink it and know it quenches our thirst, we don't question about paani and tanni or neeru. But, God is one truth which is difficult to realise, so man takes advantage of this and misinterprets religion to make money. And everybody is getting confused and fooled. So, instead of having one religion of humanity, we should learn to see the common universal truth in all religions. Thank you.

Correction - in the first sentence, it should be did God create and not did you God create. Sorry for the typo. Thank you.

I think the right question should be ... if we know that God is One, why do we (humans) create different variations or differences? Why do we always make things complicated? Don't blame God for this variation or difference. God didn't ask us to create such variation or difference. In my opinion, the Evil likes making things complicated so that there is something that he can deteriorate God.

There you are my friend! I too wanted to say the same thing... but then iwas simply waiting for our friends to participate and come up with some of their ideas! For that matter don't you think man has created God (together with religions) and not the Vice versa ? Thanks for participating and expressing your views! Please keep it up!

Because people have different beliefs. Some worship trees and the sun and natures. others worship golds and statues. Its doesnt matter what they believe in as long as they have faith in their self and dont do anything bad againts others and they respect others' religions thats all that matters.

There are so many religions because mankind does not truly desire to seek and please the One True God. When the one true God says it's not ok divorce your wife, man comes along and says well, maybe in these circumstances...and in time these changes will end up creating a whole new religion fashioned after man's desires, not truth. From time to time God sends prophets and teachers to call man back to himself, but they are almost universally rejected. The abundance of religions and religious opinions is not evidence of a lack of a true God, but rether proof that, despite his weakness and sinful depravity, man cannot rid himself of this one Great Truth that is God.
