I smoked in between kids all the way up until my last one. I would stop anytime I got pregnant and I never smoked in the house. The thing that made me stop permanently was the fact that my last one is a preemie and if I were to smoke and then come around him with smoke on my clothes it could make him sick enough to put him back in the hospital. Honestly I was crabbier after I had him and couldn't smoke again than I was when I stopped after the positive pregnancy test.

I have quit a few times and it was always cold turkey. I am still smoking now & I really don't want to stop just yet. I know there will come a day when I decide to quit again and hopefully then it will be for good. My dad quit cold turkey and never once picked up a cig again. ~Remember to give out +'s when it's deserved & select best responses. It helps us all out ;-]

I'm also trying hard. You would notice that it invites you more if you're tense, stressed out or have lots of idle time. I feel that any addiction starts from there. But I have seen my cousin give it up completely. He used to puff a cool 20-25 sticks a day, and suddenly he drops it and also walks normally! :)

I quit smoking and did it cold turkey. I haven't smoked in 6 months. It is a mental thing. You won't be able to quit unless you truely want to. From the sounds of it you don't. The most important this is that you are doing it for yourself and not anyone else cause then you will be less likely to start back up. I have had only like 2 slip ups and that was because it was my birthday and I was drinking and well the other time I was extremely drunk. I could never take up smoking again. I really think you should quit especially if you are looking to get pregnant.

I quit a little over a year ago by using Nicorette. I really wasn't moody as long as I had some Nicorette nearby. I used to smoke a lot and smoked for almost 20 years. I really never thought I'd quit but now I'm glad I did.
