Wake Me Up to Go to Bed...

If you fall asleep on the couch or in a chair, should your partner wake you up to go to bed? Would you wake them up or just go to bed? I am a real stickler for this one. If I fall asleep in my chair, Hubby HAS to wake me to go to bed before he goes...otherwise when I wake up in the middle of the night I freak out. He has sat for an hour on more than one occasion trying to wake me up just so I can stagger off to bed. I don't know why I'm like this but I am. Of course, if he falls asleep in his chair I'll wake him up too so he can go to bed, but he would wig out if I didn't. What about you? If I fall asleep on the couch, everyone just lets me be. They might cover me with a blanket. But if I fall asleep in a chair, someone will nudge me so I can go to bed. They do this so I do not get a stiff neck. I appreciate their caring ways.

I only sleep on average 4 hours nightly so I am left in the couch or chair. Not long enough of a time to get a stiff neck. Unless my head is hanging off the edge of the cushions. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

no, i cannot do that because i have to be laying flat in my bed with my pillow before i can fall asleep. my hubby is like that though, he will fall asleep in front of the tv only to get up and go to bed!

As much as I hate being woken up..our sofa is NOT the most comfortable place for me to sleep with all my body issues so yea its best that someone (my kids or my hubby) wake me up and send me to bed..If they don't not only do I not sleep well and end up cranky the next day but I also suffer from terrible pain...

ofcourse if i saw my hubby sleeping on a couch...i would wake him up to go to bed. i don't sleep on a couch at night. i go straight to my bed when i feel sleepy. But if i get sleep on it for instance...i would love someone would wake me up so i could go to bed. Because i don't want to sleep on a couch whole night.

Everyone here does this to me. I think it stinks. Everyone knows I have a hard time sleeping and am always the one up all night unable to sleep. So if I do on the very rare occasion (usually very very sick) fall asleep on the couch I think it would be common sense to leave that poor woman alone. LOL

If I fall asleep on the couch I do like my husband to wake me up so I can go to bed. If I sleep on the couch for too long I get a sore neck and back so I would much rather not wake up sore in the morning. When he falls asleep on the couch I do wake him up to so that he can come to bed. I think we both just sleep better in bed and wake up feeling more refreshed.

I don't wake my husband if he is napping because it irritates him. I rarely fall asleep before bedtime but he would not wake me to go to bed if I did. He wouldn't notice I was sleeping..lol

I haven't fallen asleep on a chair or couch since my husband and I got together. Though if I were to fall asleep on either I would prefer to be left to sleep there and not be disturbed unless of course he was to disturb me for other reasons, if you know what I mean. ;) If my husband were to fall asleep on the couch or chair I'd leave him there until he woke up on his own. I don't want to wake him up just to have him go to sleep (on the bed). Though I don't think he's fallen asleep on either since we've meet. :P

My husband falls asleep in his chair a lot and it seems as though he is so hard to wake up at times. However, I usually wake him up before I go to bed. However, I will only wake him once or twice and if he doesn't get up then he is sleeping there until he wakes up. I won't stay awake to wake him. I need my sleep the same as he does his and it is his own fault that he didn't go to bed when he felt tired enough to go to sleep so why should I lose sleep over it? Your husband is a good guy if he will wait for over an hour on you.

No, not us! We just left each other alone if we fell asleep! Sometimes you're just more comfortable where you are at! We both had day jobs, and then we both played in a band, and worked late a lot of nights, so sometimes if we got to sleep anywhere we were happy!

Hey, as long as I am comfortable and in no danger, leave me alone..lol If I fell asleep on the couch, it was because I was tired and I need my sleep..:)

The best thing is when I fall asleep on the subway and end up like at the last stop which is about 1 hour from where i really wanted to go. I hate when your place of destination ends up 10 times farther away only because you wanted to simple close your eyes just for one lousy minute.! lol

I for one wouldnt spend no hour tring to wake some one up to go to bed dont see any one sleeping that hard unless they are drunk then I just go to bed no used to be putting a drunk to bed. and I would just as soon sleep where I fall to sleep(I have a recliner which is very comfortable) But one time I did pick him up off the floor and put him to bed that wasnt good for he took the whole bed and I still slept on the couch lolololol

This sounds like my house LOL...I have my recliner and hubby has his and i usually have my cat and dog sitting on either side of me, they are jealous of each other so my cat always jumps and lays by me and my little jealous doggie does the same, she cannot be left out,so i grab a little coverlet and cover all three of us up, and we snuggle....All three of us fall asleep and my hubby wakes me up to go to bed and i stagger off to bed as you do...Its funny how so many people are alike...

my husband basically sleeps where he wants to. If I can wake him up to go to bed, I will but if I can't he doesn't get mad or anything. I can't sleep if not in my own bed and use my own pillows.

Before I moved out to myself, twoey, My boyfriend and I had an understanding. He would fall asleep watching TV, but I never did, so since it was impossible to wake him, I would leave him to wake up on his own. We often did not share the same taste in programs or movies so I would usually watch in one room while he watched in another anyway. It has never been easy for me to fall asleep anywhere other than in my bed.

Interesting topic, and this happens daily in my house, and its not me, but my father used to sleep while in a chair while reading something.. When anyone one of us, asks him to go to bed and sleep.. he rebutts strongly that he is not sleeping.. but trying to relax before going to bed.. lol:) And when we still stress that he had slept and infact heard little sounds of snoring... he gets angry. lol:)

No we dont do that. I would probably just leave him asleep on the chair. And I know he would leave me there he likes to bed to himself.
