How many people are going to give crafts that you put together yourselves

Are any or you going to put crafts together for Christmas presents? I am not ashamed to say that I cannot afford the things that most people want so instead, I will put together some native American crafts and sent them to my relatives. And no these crafts are not ones that I would only sell for less than a dollar, but rather crafts that I sell for up to $150.00. They might not have more than $20 or $30 worth of materials in them, I usually have many hours or days working on these projects.

As any parent knows...the greatest gift they could receive from their child(ren) is one they have made themselves. Why should it be any different the older we all get? A handmade gift is so much more personal and should mean so much more than a store bought gift. I made pretty much my entire family gifts last year for Christmas. They loved them and they were also very surprised that I was so crafty! If you have the materials or can get them for a relatively cheap price, I say why not?

I so agree! To go to a store and buy something massed produced is so easy, but to go buy raw items and handcraft a gift shows the person on the receiving end that you really put thought into what you wanted to get them as a gift. Handmade has personality,is made with love and is usually eco-friendly. Mass-produced as no soul... the manufacoters didn't think of your friend or relative specifically when they produced the item on a production line. I love receiving and even moreso, giving handmade items. Buy handmade this year for the holidays, the person on the receiving end will always remember who gave them their beautiful item!

I too like to make my own gifts and try to do that for my family every year. I normally am short of cash to buy everyone something so I find it much easier to just make them all something in my art class. and everyone seems to like handmade gifts better then bought things.

You must be very talented. I actually tried doing some crafts but I am a hopeless case when it comes to making something beautiful. I remember my teacher once telling me that I really have to improve on my school projects because its sooo....bad. I am one of those who really appreciates and admire those people who will time and effort and heart to put something together. I am sure whoever would be the recipient of your crafts would treasure it as I would to if somebody would just give me one.

I'm sure I will be making what I can for as many people as I can. We aren't going to have tons of money to spend on gifts and I really like personal homemade gifts anyway.

Absolutely! My family and friends enjoy receiving handmade items and I'll be making scarves and personalized ornaments and pendants to include with other gifts. I'll also be buying some handmade items as gifts. I have found some fantastic sellers of bath/body products and along with a few other select handmade items (crafts I don't make myself) I'll be buying alot of handmade items this year, rather than mass-produced items when I can.
