Do you ever have problems viewing photos because the extension isn't recognised by your computer? I have just found a great little tool for those of you that work with images of all types. While working on a digital photo album I ran into a small problem. Some of the images I had previously uploaded from another computer to WebShots had to be downloaded to my new computer. My computer didn't recognize the extension .wbz when I tried to open it after completing the download. After doing some research, I found a site with free tool that will let you convert these images to extensions which are more easily recognised by most computers. FixPicture.Org is a FREE online website utility for digital camera owners. It's the fastest way to resize and convert your pictures and images. You can apply rotation and a few other handy effects like automatic contrast, sharpen and greyscale. It's so simple, select your picture file, choose some process to apply, click on OK, and you'll be able to save the picture on your computer. Support all popular picture file formats (jpeg, tiff, png, gif, bmp, tga, ...) and camera RAW formats (crw, nef, raf, cr2, dng, ...). More than 400 formats supported. http://www.fixpicture.org HTML and Flash versions are available but I've only used the html version so far and it worked great. I hope you'll find this as useful as I am. :D ps. Once you convert your photo, I recommend saving it to your computer right away by right clicking and saving in your "mypictures" folder as the converted image is only available online for 2 hours after the conversion.

This sounds great. I used to do a lot with pictures, then I have not in awhile. I have lots waiting on various media to be dealt with, printed and scrapbooked and so forth. I will look now, then bookmark it. You always find some excellent sites for us to use. Thanks.

I've been actively converting my photos for a few years now. After my brother in law got flooded twice and lost all his photos, it became important to me to find a way to safeguard some of these precious mementos. Online photo albums like Webshots, Photobucket, and many others are very useful for "off site" storage and easy photo sharing. Just remember fixpicture when you download one & can't see it. In the past I would just delete them, now I won't have to. :)
