Hello Friends! And all mylotters too! I think after posting few my writings for discussion here that why few of those are still not getting any response? why? Are those written very badly and without clarity? Or are those have no apeal to the my lotters friends!? I know that most of the mylotters have faces this issue and so we really need to discuss about such things! Because we must know that for such kind of subjects have no place here! I have put recently two postings: One is on and about 'Human Being and Maturity: How Far, How Near?'. Second one is on and about 'Poem asking DO YOU KNOW?'. Both have zero response! Well I am really trying to understand... and you know I will have your help too! Am I right?

dear healwell, dont be too upset. i think its natural if you dont have any response (even zero response) in your discussion. it might be your topic discussion not too interesting to your friends or other myLotter. as like my previous discussion, its hardly getting response in serious discussion coz most of us doesnt want to give lots time to response in one discussion with specific and prior answer (which needed any search of literature). it will create boring in themselves. if you seen my profiles, i think you will find some of my discussion have no response at all. but i dont think why it can happen to me. i just be possitive, it might be another discussion more interesting to response than mine or what i m gonna discuss not too clear enough so that people getting confuse to response it. we can force others (eventhough our friends) to give response in our discussion right?

I remember Plumwish07 that I have responded your such a posting on and about serrious discussion why not getting response.. right? My point of view was clear when I responded to your discussion! Today when I went for this discussion, I also thought that why to put such a discussion? But I found it not only interesting but highlighting things regarding posting, getting responses as well as not getting much responses or zero responses! I was clear that zero response does not matter regarding the writing quality every time! I know when I go for writing, I make myself clear! And so before putting this I was clear for things regarding the responses and the support from mylotters and friends too! Now I found other things that this has a learning matirial too! And you have also added in that so thanks a lot!

Well, i looked at your two discussions with no response... and i must say that they are really well thought of and quite long... i like your outlook in life and how you ask question about the world we live in... But then... i am not the type who would answer that sort of questions... because i like those that are straight to the point and are more event oriented... My suggestion is... if you want to have response to those discussions...invite friends who you think are of the same level as you... or those that share the same interest with you... Before i was getting zero response for some of my discussions but when i had friends who i share mutual interest and likes... things changed for me here in mylot...

Ok Aseretdd! I apreciate your suggestion as well as saying like this 'I like your outlook in life and how you ask question about the world we live in... But then... I am not the type who would answer that sort of questions... because I like those that are straight to the point and are more event oriented...'! I can understand this view and frankness. I think there may be more persons like you who prefer to read but not prefer to respond because of the process involved in it! Thanks for responding to this again!

I am sorry you feel bad. But what I have noticed on mylot is, most of the mylotters who are constant users, do not go for heavy discussions. I think they dont have time to think and answer. There are people who do that but they dont come to mylot often. So if your serious discussion is posted at such times, that tend to not getting replies. Very few have time to go through discussions with no responses or discussions from interests. Most of they just look at top discussions or discussions from friends. Even I quite often look only at discussions from friends. So please do forgive us who are negligent of good discussions. I wish you will not lose faith on myLot, cos this is a nice and friendly society, even if you are not here for a considerable time, your friend mylotters will not forget you and will welcome you as soon as you come aboard next time. Good luck and take care.

Well Sherinek, I have not felt bad, rather I am trying to understand that what kind of posting I should put here as well as how I can make my posting people oriented more! So I have raised this question to learn some thing positive and I am getting so many things with my own self identity about writing, topics as well as communication ability! There are other things also to consider like time of posting, head line of the posting and the day to day topic regarding to get more response! You have also added THE FRAGRANCE OF FEELING FOR NOT RESPONDING AND EXPRESSED THAT BY SAYING SORRY! I am really thankful to you for this because you have given one more key to get through little deep understanding this thing!

Sometimes it is hard to come up with things to say. Other times the discussion topics are so deep that people don't have the time to respond. Eventually you will get a response. I remember I got a first response two months later. It depends who is looking for what. Make sure you posted in the proper interest. That helps a lot!

I know that one can easily look for most used tag and then put your posting considering those most populat tags and you will get good responses... BUT I DONT WANT THAT. I WANT TO WRITE ON INTERESTING TOPICS BUT CONSIDERING MY INTERESTS AND RELATED COMON INTERESTS OF OTHERS TOO! Well thanks for you adding regarding this and i appreciste that!

I also have some discussions with 0 response. Maybe it just so happened that nobody want to respond on the topic that we have started. We cannot force other people to respond on our discussion. I'll just post another discussion and it's really up to our fellow mylotters if they are interested with my discussion or not.

I am also doing posting still... I have not stopped the posting, because before these two so many oother postings were not responses and till the date those are there without any posting! So when I put this for discussion, my aim was to get through the things with other my loy friends with a concept of sharing! And you have responded well! Thanks for that!

Greetings my friend, I cannot give you an answer except that it seems to me Mylot has been quieter overall and it will probably be more so as the holidays draw nearer. For me I do not have the same amount of time to spend here as I did when I first signed on six months ago. It is enough to check in for messages and follow my response for every response on my site and acknowledge best responses when I receive them. From what I have read in the quality of your posts and your poetic offerings they are excellent! With the language barrier for some members maybe they do not know HOW to respond. If they are not family with prose and poetry they may feel self-conscious about comments because they do not feel equipped to do so. Feel free to contact me anytime when you have something you want to share. Writers love to have feedback...that I know from personal experience! So I do not think it is anything you are doing...just the way things go sometime. Keep putting your work out there..it is very good! Warm regards, Raia

First of all Raia, thanks for the time providing for this discussion with a positive input by adding "I know from personal experience! So I do not think it is anything you are doing...just the way things go sometime. Keep putting your work out there..it is very good!" I apreciate this more because you have expressed this being true to yourself! And thats enough for me!Thank you and have nice posting time here!

Hello Healwell, Even coming in various different reasons, it's really time wich is the main cause of this lack of answers. I mean, your subjects are highly interessant, and I wish I would have seen them, as I would at least have tried to think about; I didn't say "to answer", and that's a big difference ! I'll try to explain, I don't think that most of the people writing on Mylot have a sufficient amount of time in a row to 1 ; Read the subject, and think deeply about it 2. Read all what was wrtten by the other M. Lotters 3.Answer, and I mean in a wide sense : think about what they'll write, choose the best formulation, type, aso) 4. Follow the discussion and add maybe other answers to other people. I'm not so often online even if I'm at home and not working, I have a 2 1/2 years old boy turning around, who makes it difficult to concentrate about very serious and deep subjects (I imagine those working have even less time online), and when I come online, I have many things to do in short time (his afternoon nap). I have a routine to follow, and only when all this is done can I afford to come here and maybe have enough time to answer a couple of things. I'm not here everyday, I was away from MLot monthes...Sometimes I don't even see that this kind of subjects and reflexions have had been posted... Moreover, english is not my mothertongue (I believe you've guessed it ;o) )and it complicates my work of answer, I need a bit more time than I would need if I had to answer in my own language. This is the case also for many M.Lotters I guess. The subjects you're posting are highly interesting. They deserve serious answers and serious thinking, so by definition they deserve time also. I don't think a 10 sentence long answer would be appropriate... ;o) TIME is really the key here! But there's a good thing, see how much answers you get today !!

As what I've noticed, some of them were really interesting and in fact well-put. But others prefer to respond to easier discussions or topics, since they have limited time here on the net. some of them log in here to relax, have fun posting without using too much of their mind!;) We also have different interests to look up to here, some are average-minded members (like what I see in me) and others tend to post their OWN discussions than respond for they thought they get quick cents in doing that.. My tips would be, add more friends, try responding than starting your own posts and make your post more COMMERCIAL in most member's view..

Yes. I got your points, Raijin! As you said the trend of putting response is some how normally for the easy discussions! I know that but what you have added is this 'have fun posting without using too much of their mind!'... Thanks for your suggestion for more friend making!

I like hard discussions, but many do not. They have want shallow ones, and ones about how to get along with their relatives, comments on a news story about a horrible murder, and whether one prefers their hair long or short. Also with your poem, we get the idea that you are worshiping the moon and even though there are Wiccas here, the idea of what their religion leads to is rather disconcerting. (you start with worshiping the spirit in trees and animals and soon you look for a higher power, like the moon or the sun.) I have not answered the one about maturity. My advice, vary the subjects, and also get as many friends as possible, usually the best is in your best interest. So if you are mainly into poetry, recruit them there, but if you are into daily discussions, get them there.

I do read every post you open, and it is certainly not boring or badly written, in fact they are very interesting. I can say that in this period of time i do not have alote of time to respond, so from time to time i read. that is the reason that i don't respond to your posts in the last few months. take care. liran.

Well there are plenty of variables to this Heal. For one, it is impossible to see every thread so some go unanswered for weeks on end. Other times, one does need exposure and one needs the right friends participating to help fuel a discussion. Then there are people who do nothing but post discussions and do not reply to other people's discussions. If you get enough people like that, no discussion will be answered. Now there are plenty of silly threads and people will answer those, other times threads crying for help or about a problem will get answered too. Do not feel that discouraged if your threads get no response or very little responses (I have PLENTY).

I have no seen any of your discussions but if i do i will always post in them. i have a few that have zero responses as well. though i think mine are because i put them in general discussion because i dont really know how to catagorize them and under what they should be put under..but i try and find the catagorization if possible and that seems to help...

Your discussion is very well thought of and very profound and most people I think doesn't really want to sit down and ponder. Everyone is seems on the rush. They choose the discussions that have easy topics. They don't have to really think over their answers.

I am in agreement with you heal. I thought that I'd be able to start long discussions with a well thought out, controversial topic. But from what I've seen, most peeps on here want to reply to posts such as "what sock do you put on first in the morning," rather than use their brain to write an intelligent opinion about a topic they feel passionate about. Of course, there are some good posters out there, but they're not the norm in my opinion. Most people just want to see how many sentences they can write for a penny rather than engage in a debate. Hopefully though, as this site grows, this trend will not continue. This one did well for ya though. =)
