Life's Mystery

I do quite a bit of pondering during the idle times. This last time got me wondering why it is that we are sometimes irresistibly drawn to a place, person, or thing. Throughout my life I have found myself drawn to some of the most baffling subjects. I can't explain why this happens, only that I feel the need to learn as much as I can about whatever it is that interests me. Some would say this might be a past-life connection. Possibly. I just know there are some things I have to learn about. Does this happen to you? Has it been ongoing?

Well I'm a great believer in reincarnation. On one hand I would love to know what some of my past lives were on the other hand maybe it's best not to know. But I remember reading that often a person is drawn to say a particular period of history as they may have lived at that time. Me for instance had a great love for the ancient cultures like Egyptian and Grecian, oddly enough never the Roman. Love the Middle Ages and Renaissance as well...and believe it or not have always been drawn to the idea of the existence of Atlantis..as far as subjects..have always been drawn to the sciences like astronomy, archealogy, anthropology, oceanography...I've always been drawn to the metaphysical subjects..and on and on...And I too, just love to keep learning, I never stop either..LOL

At this point, pyewacket, I'm wondering if I made my discussion clear enough to be understood. I, too, am interested in certain periods of history-and I don't mean as a passing fancy. I have studied a lot about the Middle Ages, The Crusades, Atlantis. I feel very drawn to places I have never been such as Louisiana and Texas in the U.S. I also am attracted to Ireland and Scotland. I read so much that I feel I might do myself harm if I don't start getting more rest. I am also interested in paranormal and occult events.

I hope I understood what you meant..LOL Like in other words what you're interested in is sort of an obsession and you can't read enough about it, and even when you read about it you feel as though you know the info already. I often feel that way myself Okay..like say your drawn to Ireland and Scotland (so am I!). If ever you're lucky enough to ever go there, I just bet you'll be drawn to certain spots and you'll get a Deja Vu reaction..is that it? I seem to be drawn to the past more as well, which is why I love reading histories so much. As for places here I feel "connected"--I would say Virginia, North Carolina and the New England states..particularly New Hampshire...why? Not a CLUE

My belief is that whatever you feel drawn toward, it is your essential self (or true being)trying to lead you to where you want to go. I think we all have some meaningful destination or way of living that is what our spirit wants us to know. Those subtle hints should not be dismissed. They are often signs leading to your true path and existence.

I think you just might have something there, sigma. Possibly, it might be the Native American part of me that is seeking something more from this existence. I will use the tools that I have at my disposal to learn more.

You have raised the question with little mystery too! But it is ok to me because I know and experienced such things that I can understand what you want to express! And yet I am wandering about your one word BAFFLING! I don’t know really what you mean by using it! I am asking this because of a reason... You also have mentioned about the past life connection and which way you have said about your DRAWN situation and it goes with past life matter because such things come like that way! And it is happening with you in overall life so it is not just baffling but raising you to search for such kind of your own thing that why is this happening to me? Well no need to cling a word! At the same time if you really have noticed your inside happening and the feel of such thing you have passed through is more relevant than any other thing to understand the happening! When you understood the thing will stop then! This is the mystery behind the things happening this way, because it has some thing to give you some kind of message, some kind of hint, some kind of check regarding life, your inner truth, and your existence overall! I know from here the field of occult starts but it is obviously true: Life has many facets but these kinds of facets are occurring with typical persons who have the capacity and bearing element within! So you can go ahead with your intuition. You have to get in to your intuitive element from within because it is there and you have to reach there or you have to give a silent call to that element to come on surface for understanding the thing! This is some how challenging but interesting too! Because the life then reveals very differently and let me say nicely too because one will pass through so many new but magical things from within and found that over all surface of the life has changed! I hope you will go for such search and reveal yourself newly and truly! Thanks for putting this thing here so that I got some thing interesting while reading and my pen started to write up to this point!

You have honored me with such a warm response, healwell, and I feel as though you probably could tell me some of the things I need to know. I think you are very wise in the mysteries of life and have possibly experienced some of the things you refer to. When I used the word BAFFLED I merely meant that I am having trouble understanding. Maybe I am the student and you are the teacher. [smile]

I don't know for sure. Maybe we aren't suppose to know. I have felt a connection with Great Britain ever since I studied it in school.I may have been a Brit in a previous life but I will never know.

There is always past-life regression, sarah, if you want to go that route. I agree, thouth, that we are not meant to know the answers to everything.

this may happen may be because GOD wants you to learn somethings and share it with other people who may be in need of this perticular sort of knowledge. GOD BLESS you always and always.

That's a good answer, apple, especially since I have always had the feeling I should be a teacher. You have given me something to think about. [smile]

I'm more interested in past lives than in the present one, hanreq. I wonder is this peculiar to just a certain group of people.

I always look at life especially when you get a little older as riding a wave, it does seem that you get on the wave and just get swept along and I have learnt over the years you end up where you really are supposed to be, that when things, people or events let you down it is for a reason and one day you will look back and be thankful because every little thing that happens to you make you end up in the place you are today.

That is very profound, lilaclady, and true. Everything does happen for a reason. We may not know the whys and wherefores at the time, but it will eventually become clear.

Yes, I’ve experienced this odd feeling many times in my life as well. I’ve been somewhere I know I’ve never been before yet I had the strongest feeling that I knew it well and I’ve found myself fascinated in learning more about it. I really think it does have something to do with a past life but I sure don’t know how to explain it. Annie

I think it happens to everyone. AS children and teenagers though they refer to it as a craze but once you get older they say you are getting old. I get hooked on something and have to know everything about the subject. I buy books and do research and find aricles on the Internet. i question everyone I know about the subject as well.

I don't think it happens to everyone, aceballos, because I have questioned others about it and they say that it is not so with them.
