It's Thanksgiving morning...I wonder how many people will be posting today?

It's 8:30am and my granddaughter is still sleeping and I'm having my first cup of coffee. I picked up my fully cooked thanksgiving dinner yesterday and the turkey is going in the oven in about an hour since it's supposed to be heated for an hour and a half. Everything else will go into the microwave. It smelled so good yesterday that I wanted to start on it then...lol....There is sooooo much food that I know there will be a lot of leftovers so I already got my containers out so I can send some home with my son and put some away for me. My granddaughter made an adorable turkey out of a pineapple at school and I have it sitting in the middle of my table. It makes an awesome centerpiece. I can't help but wonder how many people will be discussing and responding today. I know some places already had their Thanksgiving Day or don't even celebrate it.

I think it's great that you're going to make a turkey dinner even though it's not a "holiday" for you. There's nothing like the aroma of a turkey roasting in the oven.

Ooo me me! Technically my husband is making dinner for us today, but since he also works tonight and has to sleep at some point, we don't have huge plans or anything. I'll probably be online just as much as on any other day off. *shrugs* In fact, I'm planning on starting more discussions than usual, to make up for the people who won't be here. :P

I was expecting it to be a slow day too! Maybe I won't have to go on a posting spree after all to make up for others not posting.

I'm sure it'll be the same. Because even people who celebrate thanksgiving seem to be posting. I'm sure christmas day will be the same too, that some people will treat it just the same.

I did go to my daughters for a while and had a great time. She made me breakfast with sausage, hash browns, raisin bread, and scrambled eggs...it was so yummy. She was going to her fiancee's house for Thanksgiving dinner, and of course, I was invited but decided not to go. I still had a fun day, I always do with my kids. Did you have a good Thanksgiving?...I hope so.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I am doing some postings this morning before I start getting ready for the day. Like you, I have my cup of coffee. I have to go get dressed and then later I will travel to my daughter's house for dinner. It is nice that she is doing the cooking. I don't feel rushed today.

How wonderful to have your family around you on this Thanksgiving Day, ctry. I know how much you enjoy having your granddaughter there with you, and I'm glad you didn't have to spend all that time in the kitchen. Enjoy the day!

Don't worry, I am still posting here:) Thanksgiving is not our official holiday and actually it is not so popular here yet. Compare to it, Christmas is becoming much more popular here. Have a nice Thanksgiving Day!

I was wonder the exact the same thing. I just came here to take a look a little bit, what is going on here and if there are some new discussions and i see there are. Also there are many people from other coutries who don't celebrate thanksgiving, so I guess fo them it is just regular day as any other. By the way your grandaoughter make a good job, it is really cute turkey. happy thanksgiving.

Happy thanksgiving, here in our country we dont celebrate thanks giving so i just realised from your posting that it is today. I have never tasted a turkey in my life but that picture is soo tempting. I know it tastes like a chicken, isnt it? Enjoy yourself and say hi to your family.

Turkey does taste a little bit like chicken but it's a more "gamier" if you know what that means. Other than that I see no difference other than it's usually much larger!

Yeah, my morining start it out with me waking up and then telling my husband to put the turkey in the oven. Then the day started out for me with a cup of coffee also, but then I started to get ready and by the time I knew it, my guest had already began to arrive. It was a rush but alot of fun. Yes, there is soooo much left overs too!

Well, I'm here! We had T-day last night! My son works and couldn't get off, his X wouldn't let me have the baby for a few hours, my daughter and GD came over for a quick meal as it was "switch day" and she had to go back to the X's. The pie wouldn't bake right and was horrible -( Sara Lee - how can itnot bake right? Don't know but it didn't!). Can't make the travel to see the rest of my family so today is a good day to be on MyLot!
