My Prophetic Halloween Pumpkin Predicts a Prosperous 2008

Pumpkins Seeds for 2008 - If these pumpkin seeds could talk what would they say to you? Eat me? Or something better?

Every year I buy a pumpkin at Halloween and keep it until Thanksgiving. Then I scoop out the seeds and cook the pulp into a pie. This year the pumpkin had less pulp than usual and lots of seeds and the seed are very fat. They will make wonderful snacks after they dry. But as I was washing the seeds, I wondered, "What can I learn from these seeds?" After thinking a bit, I decided they should work in augery, as well as tea leaves or bones or whatever things other people use. So I threw them onto a towel and took a picture. I know what I believe the pattern of seeds in my photo predicts, but what about you?Does any thought come to mind when you look at the seeds (other than this lady is nuts!) What do they tell you? Do you think pumpkins seeds can give you a glimpse into the future? If not, what can? Do you like to see into the future or would you rather wait and let it hit you splat in the face? A little harmless fun with the pumpkin! What do you think?

Hello pumpkin keeper, I live in the country where some people around here have lived their whole lives. My wife as one of those people. I must say reading seeds is not new. Its an age old practice. If you dont know what you are doing it can be haunting. Once we ran a water witch and without help of one of our elders. It didnt turn out to good. We dug a sulfer well that had to be filled in. Last year I checked Persimmon seeds for weather signs and the next day-December1st we got 12" of snow. Be careful.

Some people are better at water witching than others. I am so glad to hear others have been reading seeds for ages, lol. I am not afraid. But thank you for the warning. I do tell people they need to be careful what they wish for as it may come true!

There you go! If there is some little bit of paint left over after I make a nice painting for my friend, then I can make itty bitty paintings on the shell of the seeds. Have you seen the tiny sculptures some guy carves inside a grain of rice? So awesome.

All I could think of when you mentioned your plump seeds was the dream in Daniel in the Bible, when King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of plump cattle and emaciated cattle. I will buy it that you are predicting a prosperous 2008.You can say it many times until you believe it and work to make it so. I hope it is so for me.

Looking at the seeds made me realize... that... it has been a long time since i have eaten some of those...we always eat pumpkin seeds ( buto na kalabasa in our language) when travelling to distant places... so it again made me realize that it has been a long time since i travelled... so on a personal perspective... your seeds are telling me that i need to pack my bags and go places again... but of course i have to take my baby with me...

I took another look at the seeds, and yes, they definitely say "Take your baby with you!" Your word "kalabas" for pumpkin is almost like our "calabasa" so now I know a word in your language! Thank you.

I don't see much when I see the pile of seeds. I think they need to be spread out more but then again I don't know how to read any of this stuff. I would say the image that kept coming to mind was a turtle, and I don't know why.. maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.... but it got me thinking about water. I don't know what the crap that means.

Of course, you are right. If we were divining, the seeds should be spread out, but then you would not be able to see how many were in this tiny little pumpkin. I cheated and tasted one seed before drying them, and it was delicious. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are wonderful! I take that association to mean that 2008 will be a prosperous year indeed, but not all in bunches, rather slowly over time, like a turtle. I could use a slower pace than last year! Thanks.

Well, I think that the pile of seeds look like you just dumped out a whole jar of quarters and you are getting ready to count them. Since there are so many seeds, you WILL have a prosperous 2008.

Hello Drannhh, I see a topographical map indicating a place where hibiscus grow. Are you planning a trip to Hawaii, or another warm, mountainous place? I don't see any reason why pumpkin seeds should be excluded from all manner of divination. Who ever said tea leaves are the do all, and end all of prophesizing? Do I think the seeds, themselves can offer a glimpse into tomorrow? No. Yet, I suspect they can act as a catalyst for one to open their 'self' to a broader perspective. Would I wish to know the future? Or, face it as it presents itself? I guess a little of both. Even if we rely on intuition to guide us along our path, we never know exactly how reality will unravel. So, I think its always a bit of both. Who'd have guessed a pumpkin could be so useful, eh?

Actually, I am working very hard on a painting with a hibiscus plant growing in the ground. Actually, I live in a warm mountainous place, but I'm sure your vision was related to my painting. Of course, you are head on about the catalyst bit. Thanks for your insight once more, LadyLuna. Now I shall picture you with a hibiscus blossom in your hair, sitting outdoors on a pleasant day having a tall drink of iced hibiscus tea.

When I was a kid there was a small brook running through the wooded area where we lived and in it grew some fish that looked a little like sand dabs, but we called them "Pumpkin Seed Fish" and we caught them to eat and also scooped up the fish eggs from the banks of creek to eat as well. One time my parents splurged on a little jar of real caviar just to prove to us kids (and maybe themselves) that our caviar was just as good as the kind "rich people" ate. Of course, being fresh, it was much better than the stuff in the jar.

I see. Now if we can just find someone to gut that fish for us, we'll have fillets. I hope it is a mercury-free fish!
