Ready...Set... A Date for the bone marrow donotation process is set

Well all, we got a great phone call this morning from the University of Michigan Cancer Center. My wifes date for the bone marrow donor for her older brother has been set. She needs to be out there on the 14th of December to learn how to administer the injections she will have to do twice daily for a week. The actual donor process is schedulded for the 20th of December. The process is 2 days and about 3 to 6 hours per day. She will be off work from the 13th until the 26th. She will be gone from home from the 13th till the 22nd. So it's cutting it really close but she will be home for the Holidays as long as there's no unforseen problems. I will be lost without my Angel Debbie. Thanks all.

At least your wife will be home in time for Christmas.
Its quite a big process donating bone marrow.
How long will it take before Doctors know if the marrow has "taken" & there is no rejection? How long before they see an improvement in your brother-in-law?

That was our main concern and main priority as well as her
brothers famils. She will find that out at the University
when she gets there the 14th. I never thought to ask. I am
sure her brother knows though. HAHAHA!!

you two are really sweet persons!
i know you will miss your wife so much. being away from someone you really love the most is so difficult even if you are just apart for a short period of time. you are doing a sacrifice and she is, too. you two are good people and for sure there will be lots and lots of blessings that will come your way.
it's nice to know that there are really loving people like you both.

Wow, Debbie is giving her brother a wonderful Christmas present. I will keep you all in my prayers. It will be tough being without your Angel for a ew days, but you will survive. She truly is an Angel and I pray that this works for her brother. Next year Christmas will be even more special, he hopefully will be well.

Yes, I know you will really miss Debbie, but you do know that she is doing a terrific good deed. I will not say that the time will go quickly, because it will not. I hope things go well for her, and for her brother. All the best to all of you.

Thanks bunches. Oh I've been enjoying the pre holiday season all too much. We are nearly broke. HAHAHAHA! Not really but this trip and tests etc will break the bank a lot more than we expected.

Good luck to all expecially your wife and her brother I hope it all goes well and they dont have much pain and everything turns out great. Hopefully she will come back home in time for the holidays and best of all she would give the best gift this year a second chance in life.

I am hoping theres not much pain. She is a bear when she is in pain. HAHAHA! An angel yes, but when she is hurting, aie yiii yiii! Hahahaha!
