Holiday Decorating For Singles

I am widowed and single. Christmas use to be a big thing for me. But now my husband is gone and the kids are grown and on their own. I have found that I have down sized my decorations quite a bit. I no longer have a big tree. Matter of fact I have a little 2ft tree now. I still put up my christmas village though. My village is my favorite! I decorate my windows modestly. I also have a few other decorations around the house. I don't use all the Christmas lights that I used to either. I might if the power bills were not so high this year. So being single. How do you decorate?

I don`t bother unless there are kids around , its way to much work where i`m alone and way too much work and a mess to clean up for nothing unless kidsare here ...
that may sound bad , but it works for me ...

Ya I know it's extra work. Thats why I have down sized my decorating. I don't really get much company anymore. Mostly because of the hours I work. But a few things are cheery. Happy Holidays!!!!

Well you got me thinking I might just do a little decorating , I did decide to do Xmas cards even though I can`t read my own writing , but a few decorations may cheer me up a bit/or depress me I`ll try it ...

I have a friend who is single and she goes all out with the decorations on all holidays. She does a lot for christmas and leaves her tree up until February. I think if you like all your decorations then go for it.

Well despite the fact that I live alone and have for more than a year, I still treat the holidays with a big bang and go all out and decorate..in fact a few days ago, I already started with some Christmas decorating in the apartment and plan to do more maybe over the weekend. I hope to get a tree..I was able to last year, but I'm hoping to get one again this year...money has been a bit tight--but if some people come through for me and pay me what they owe me (and they better..LOL) then no problem My biggest decorating feat has been how I decorate the front door every year and been doing that since heaven's knows when and I only do that after I get the tree...Just because I'm alone doesn't mean I shouldn't decorate and enjoy the season
