Next time you or your kids get a cold and a cough try this. Get some Vicks VapoRub but don't follow the directions on the bottle.
Rub it on the soles of the feet in generous amounts and put socks on over it. The patient will get a good sleep without coughing.
It really works!

Hello Barehugs,
Thank you for sharing that!! I always hated my Mom rubbing that stuff under my night clothes when I was a kid! Wish this would have been thought of 30 years ago! lol
Have you tried it? I'm going to the next time I get a cold. I think hubby is getting one, but I'm not sure he will let me do this. LOL

Its quite a different thing. You just rub it on the soles of your feet and put on your socks. Its hard to describe the feeling you get when you're settling down in bed. Its cosy and comfortable and you Imagine that you can smell and taste the vapor in your throat. I'm sure I was able to. It was almost like when mom used to rub it on your chest. I know this sounds crazy but, are the soles of your feet really that far away from your nose and throat? Be Healthy!

I will keep this in mind, also one of my residents at the retirement home I work in has a nasty cough. She has been sick for almost a month. I will tell her about it at work today!
