What's the first part of your body to feel the cold ?

When my apartment starts to get cold I know it because all of a sudden my hands will be freezing. If I don't turn the heat up a bit the next thing is my nose and once that happens I know I haven't put the heat up enough. I usually have sox on my feet in the winter but if they start getting cold then I know I'm doing something wrong and will put on a pair of slippers! What's the first part of your body to feel the cold? Is it the same when you go outside or do you prepare for the cold when you leave your house or apartment?

Hi Ctry, When I'm in the house, it's my feet. I wear socks too, but if I have too I will put on more than one pair or just cover them up with a throw blanket. Hubby's hands gets cold first, and if those are cold he stays cold. They were like ice last night when he came in and he had his gloves on. He thought he was going to be slick and warm them up on me. LOL I try to prepare, I don't go all out with gloves and scarves and stuff. I don't like a lot of bundles of clothing on me, I don't feel I can move comfortably. Just my winter coat and my hood. I'm not going too far, usually to the warm car and get in it. :) Bay Lay Gray xx

In Minnesota I wear a heavy Starter jacket. A thick wool stocking cap. A scarf. And a pair of unsulated gloves. Of course with the snow I also have to wear boots sometimes depending where I am off to when I dress. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I would imgine so Grandpa Bob! It's cold in Minnesota! I'm in S.Illinois. It gets pretty cold, but not that much snow all winter long, thank goodness. I will say that when it does snow, it does a good job of it. LOL Bay xx

the right answer should be the nose! it is reported by the science newspaper. no matter where you feel cold first in your body, actually the first part should be nose !^_^!

That's interesting. For me it's my head so I put on a cap when it's getting cold.

I could say that the first part of my body that feels the cold would be my hands. The fingers would begin to freeze and start shivering. When I rub my fingers in my cheeks it could be warm but when repeating this would again end up in shivering. During times when I go out in the cold I used to wear Jerkins and make my upper body warm at least. Would better wear some gloves for the hands and keep some cotton bud in the ears which is a highly recommended solution for keeping ourself warmer.

I'll have to try that next time it's very cold. Does it make it hard to hear?

My feet!!! They are always cold no matter how high I have the heating on. Two pairs of socks and a pair of slippers still dont take the chill out of them..... :-)

For me, It's my feet. Once the temp here drops below 70. I am in trouble . Been that way since I was a child. Out come my trail sox. I even push the thermostat a degree or two while showering. Blue toes are not attractive. lol

My feet are always the first part of my body to get cold. If my feet are cold then the rest of me ends up feeling cold too. And when it is cold I have to wear socks to bed or else I get really cold and start shaking. I love my woolie slippers and sometimes in winter I feel like wearing them to bed lol.

The first part where I feel cold is my legs. So during winter I have to wear warm leggings under my pants.

My nose is usually the first part of my body to feel the cold. I think because I usually dress accordingly on the rest of my body but my poor nose gets neglected. I don't wear gloves in the house but am usually busy with my hands so they keep warm that way.

It is definitely my hands. As a matter of fact, they are the only thing cold on me right now. I go to work at 5:30 in the morning. I drive a school bus and we have to pre-trip it. It is freezing that early this time of year. I wear 4 layers of clothes, a hat, a hood and 2 pairs of gloves. Of course, once I am driving and the bus is warmed up I have to strip most of the stuff off. It is very difficult to drive all bundled up like that!! PEACE

My nose always gets cold first. I can feel fine everywhere and my nose will be freezing. When it is cold I need to wear a scarf outside. I have to cover my nose. They should make nose mittens!

The first part of my body that gets cold is my nose. Then my hands and feet. Once my feet get cold I have to warm them up or my whole body gets cold. When I go to bed if my feet are cold I can't fall asleep. I then have to get up and put on a pair of socks and then I have no trouble falling asleep. I usually end up taking them off sometime in the middle of the night because then my feet get hot and I can't sleep. Once my nose is cold I get a headache if cold for too long. I have to warm it up by breathing hot air into a blanket and covering my nose with it. I have to do this several times before my nose warms up.

I think most people feel colder if their feet are not properly covered, for me it's also my head, I've noticed a warm cap also helps keep me warm

My face surprisingly is the the one part of my body that easily gets cold first and it is not very unusual for me to wear a ninja like mask on cold days, i hope it is not some kind of strange sickness.

I would say the first part of my body that seems to cold before anything else, is my feet. lol But then again my feet always seem to be cold, even when i have the heater on. The only way i can prevent this is by wearing socks or shoes around the house, and let's face it, i don't find either of them to be comfortable. ;) I need to turn up the heat more this time of year, i suppose. Make it a sonna.

Since I'm not a big fan of turning the heat up I'm always more comfortable just putting on sox to keep my feet warm.
