I really dont feel well today. My throat is sore and is burning. I have done nothing all day and I feel so tired. I hate feeling like this. It is one of those days when you just dont have the strength to get up and do anything. Do you have days like that? What do you do to feel better? I would love some advice.

when I feel like that I will grab a quilt and my feather pillow and snuggle up on the couch... I don't tend to read then because my eyes are so heavy and tired. I do not like to be pampered but I do like to be left alone when feeling icky. hot tea or broth is usually soothing

I have been doing alot of that lately. I built a fire in the coal stove so I could get really warm. I hate to be cold. Hot herbal tea is what I have been drinking

Hey, I hope you feel much better today and no doubt had some great responses to make you feel good! When I feel yucky I head straight for the bath! I run a nice hot bath, lots of bubbles and have a luxurious soak in the hot tub, with some soft music in the background and depending on what time of the day it is will have a hot toddy (that's coffee with a dash of brandy or whisky!) then I get back into bed afterwards and enjoy the silence. I usually hate people being around me so I just want to hibernate and be alone.

You need to just give up, get warm, and go to bed. Sleep it off. Tea with honey and lemon is good for all over. Horseradish, alone or in food benefits cold symptoms. My favorite treatment for the sore burning throat is to eat fresh pineapple if I can get it. If I cannot get it, I will eat canned in its own juice. Really, quit feeling bad about not getting stuff done, go ahead, sleep it off, take care of you, so that you can fight this off and bounce back.

thanks for the wonderful holistic advice I never heard about pineapple being a remedy before, it is one I am certainly willing to try. pineapple is so refreshing and delicious anyhow, love to eat it but it tends to make my tongue sore. my mother said if you salt the pineapple it will counteract the acid and it won't happen but I do not care for salty pineapple, lol.

Yes, I have days like that especially in the fall and winter. The first day I feel that way I give myself permission to just stay in the bed. Sometimes we just need a day to wind down, rejuvinate and, relax. If I feel that way for a couple of days sometimes just getting out of the bed and running a couple of errands helps get me going. If you get that way often I would reccomemd checking with your doctor. I suffer from a seasonal disorder that causes me to have less energy in the fall and winter. It can cause sluggishnesh, depression, increased appetite, and an increased craving for sweets. So there are many day that I have to push myself into getting up and getting going. I hope you feel better.

I am beginning to think it is the season. It seems to be dark more than it is light outside. It is cold and just misserable. My appetite is none. I dont feel like eating. Thanks for your advice.

Stay warm, take it easy, stay in the house, don't do much more then you have too. It sounds like you might be fighting off a bug. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I stay home I can when I am feeling punky, this time of year the weather is lousy. Take care.

I usually drink lots of hot herbal tea, lay around and watch a good movie or two, sleep as much as possible, and make sure I take my vitamins. A change in the amount of sunlight does have an influence on the way a person feels. But if you don't feel better soon, I think I'd go to the doctor.

Hi Village! When I have days like you have described I make a cup of hot orange spice tea. I take my tea and I go to my boxes of pictures that I have catalogued. I start at my children's birth pictures and I look at all the pictures of them through the years. The day passes quickly and I have such a warm feeling from all the great memories! I look at pictures of their days as toddlers and those cute pictures from school plays and what not. It is a wonderful, quiet, non-taxing way to spend the day! The tea helps to soothe my throat and looking at the pictures lifts my spirits! Hope you are feeling better soon!

When I feel like I'm starting to come down with something I take the following: 1. Echineacea 2. Goldenseal 3. 2 table spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 oz of orange juice 4. multi-vitamins (I always take these, but if you don't you should) 5. Emergen-C Also, get some extra sleep.

I use the vinigar only I add a spoonful of honey to it. It normally helps but not this time. I feel terrible.

I actually sometimes look forward to those days - lots of chicken soup, warm blanket, a good book and sounds like a day to take it easy. Hoping you feel better soon though - one day is all I can handle of feeling like this and then I need to get busy.

Most of it is just in the mind. I manage myself with music, taking a deep breath, put on music that I like and the feeling will change, then do the things that are necessary that I need to do that day, leaves me the rest of the day with things to do that I like, with the best one at the end as a reward. Hope this helps.

I feel that way often. I have seriously bad allergies that even the slightest thing can set them off. Then I get migraines and sinus infections and it takes it all out of me. I drink a lot of hot tea and take a lot of vitamin c when I'm not feeling good. Of course I do make sure I get enough sleep so that my body has the strength to fight off the infection too. When you are sick you can take up to 5000mg of vitamin c and it won't hurt you.

Depends on what day of the week it is when I feel just yucky.. It's very hard to try to get a day off..during the week. I have to work..even with a sore throat.. Bad part about that is I have to be on the phone regardless..so trying to talk when you only can croak is hard...I pray that those I call understand frogs or toads since that's what i sound like..lol I do take warm tea..and eat soup from morning to night..which really seems to help..I know it's not normal to eat soup for breakfast..but if I have a sore throat..that is what helps me a little.

Hello dear village anne. Just a few days ago, I had a sore throat and didn't feel well at all. I didn't take any medicine, but drank tea and orange juice every now and then when I felt uncomfortable. Now I am well again. So I think that both water and orange juice are very helpful. Have a try, please, dear friend.

I usually get like that when the weather changes to very very cold. I would make a drink for my throat-- get a glass of hot water&lemon&lime&honey mixture. Far as eating I really don't feel like eating at that time so I usually have a cup of warm chicken noodle soup. I would be a couch potato all day or grab a good book and stay in bed. Just what I do, hope that helps...My friend told me that coke and lemon mixture works for the sore throat too....
