Do you use onions in every dish?

About a month ago, we bought a really big bag of onions. And, in an effort to get rid of them, I've been using them in almost every dish. So, far, I've put them into spagetti, sloppy joes, tuna sandwiches (raw, uncooked onions) and assorted other dishes. The only thing I haven't used onions for is breakfast. And, do you know what? Onions just make everything taste better. At least that's my opinion. And, just when I thought that the onion situation was all taken care of and the last onion was used, my spouse brought home another huge bag of onions. Guess he liked the onions too. Oh, well, onto more onion based dishes! Do you use lots of onions in your daily dishes? Or, do you use onions rarely? What's your favorite onion based recipe?

Actually we don't often buy onions. I know it's a healthy vegetable, but somewhat we don't eat it so often. Perhaps it's easy to make us cry when we are cutting it. Usually we just fry the onions with meats. And this is the most common onion dish here. I love China

Yeah, beautyqueen26, onion is a must in our daily meals. We use onions for almost every dish. When are well fried the onions will give a unique wonderful smell. So we like to spread the yellowish fried onion slices on the top of our dish to make it looked more delicious. My son likes fried onions with stirred eggs.

No, not necessarily. Onions add a zing to many dishes and I add them for that purpose. Pureed onion paste also thickens the gravy of the dish and makes it more tasty. Apart from these, I also slice onions thinly and fry them crisply and then sprinkle over a dish and cover the dish for a few minutes. Fried onion imparts a wonderful flavour to the food. But I really dislike raw onions…they leave such a bad taste in the mouth.

We don't always use onions. It really depends. We just bought a pretty big bag for our apartment at school, so that will take us quite awhile to get rid of. We made rather simple chicken quesadillas today, and we kind of thought a touch of onions would go great with them, so we used that. However, since we have so many, especially a half of one cut up, ready to go, I was trying to come up with ways to use them. I mean, really, onions are great and can be used in pretty much anything,as long as you like onions. So I'm sure, we're going to start using them on sandwhiches, and in other types of foods so we can at least get rid of the one we have chopped up.

I dont like the taste of raw onions. We buy onion by bags too... It is more cheap if you will buy it that way. Now that the holiday season is here..

Hello dear beauty queen. I seldom eat onions, but I love to eat green onions and would like to put it in most of the food to make it tasty.

Hi,there!I don't use onions in every dish cause I think every dish should have different tastes at certain degree.I put onions in noodles, spagetti, soup and so on.I think that makes them taste more delicious. However,I don't put them in all because some of the vegetables are expected to be very freshly cook and they taste better without onions:) I use some onions, not too many in my daily dish otherwise they'll cover all other flavors but I use onions pretty often.LOL! Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day^_^

i don't. i don't like onions unless they're cooked with something to the point where you can't taste them anymore. the smell of onions burns my eyes and the taste makes me gag, i'm being literal with that too. vidalia onions are ohkay in some dishes, but i will usually only eat onions if i can't taste them. even if they crunch in my mouth and i know it's an onion my eyes water up and i feel sick.

We go through phases. Right now we are not doing a lot of home cooking, so we are not using up onions. When we cook at home we do use lots of onions. They are really full of nutrition. We do use them in breakfast scrambles as well as in almost every meat, fish and poultry dish we eat. I would miss them if we did not.

Ugh. Onions have such a terrible texture in foods. I hate it. They have to either be really huge that I can pick them out (like in Chicken fried rice) or really really really tiny so that I can't tell that they're in there because they have a different texture than what I'm eating. So really, I never cook onions in my own food but I'll eat the if I have too, though I'd rather not cause of the texture.

Onion soup is always good. There is also potatoes and onions. Spaghetti sauces are good with onions too. I also use them in fried rices and noodle dishes.
