I had posted a discussion about my Christmas lights awhile back. They looked so dull and boring to a point as it did not really look like the holiday season with the warmth and sunshine and lack of snow. An update. Here's a great shot now of them looking very festive after 6 inches of snow so far. Expecting 6 to 10 more inches as well. Maybe sleet and ice after midnight. A lot of blowing and drifting as well with 20 MPH winds with 30 MPH gusts. It's rough but soooo pretty finally. But they are nice looking finally. Does it look festive in your neck of the woods?

Hello there grandpa bob, i love the lights you got there, you have made it all in great harmony and I can feel a festive christmas with your decoration. Im glad you have inspired us to make our lights decoration as well, I have not started to decorate yet, but with what you have shown here makes me want to decorate and enjoy it.

I've had mine up since the middle of October. I hate trying to climb a ladder hanging the lights when it gets too cold outside. I turned them on a day or so before Thanksgiving. They are on from dark which is about 430 till arounf midnight each night. Christmas eve they will get turned on at dark then won't be turned off till the morning after Christmas. Decorate away then. Hee hee. 24 days till Christmas is all.

wow, thats so good for you to have planned things as early as october, anyways we have no snow here in the Philippines so I downt feel the coldness you are feeling there. Thats a good climbing you have done there grand pa bob!

Oh believe me I was singing away. The neighbors called the cops reporting some type of strange sounds from next door. HAHAHA!!

Not particularly pretty right now. Bare trees, brown grass. It feels heavy outside, almost like spring thunderstorm weather. The wind has been high. I do not do much decorating, but the houses around look good, nice and twinkly. It feels like the holiday.

It almost sounds good if you have a woman with you and a nice roaring fire in the fireplace and plenty of food and things to keep you busy. I forgot how wonderful and invigorating a good nasty blizzard can be. Then again, a few years back I was in North Carolina two weeks before Christmas and it was sunny and 80 degrees. It is hard to say no to that, any time of the year. Happy snow blowing.

Yes your right! It does look so much prettier with the snow! It just makes it feel a lot more like Christmas. I know the wind doesn't help much in the way of going outside and feeling those cold gusts! I loved going outside on a snowy morning when it is just still and quiet. You can hear your feet crunching in the snow. It really just makes you stand in amazement at God's creation and of course the fun of making snowmen! LOL

I hate the holidays withput snow and I hate when it's really
cold without snow. Neither seems right without a bunch of snow.
Now it's really cold and we have the snow. YIPPY!!!

That does look like a very christmasy picture. I wish we would get some snow. I know I keep saying that LOL but I love snow. It's finally starting to get cool here now and no more 70 and 80 degree weather.

Well I think my lights are fairly basic, if it wasn't for the flashing of different colours and the fake snow/frosty glace which has been sprayed on the inside window it would look plain and boring.
I designed a pattern and have added some images of snowmen/trees using a the snow to make it look more fun.
It would look nicer with your snow bob.. :P

Well I love living here. And I love my snow. Till it turns brown from the salt trucks and traffic then it's disgusting. But for now I'll enjoy it. You don't like my lights either I bet.
