Might Be A "Tad" MIA

Just wanted to let my friends here know, that I might be a bit more missing in action here but hope to drop by at least a little while each day/night. I've just hooked up with a writing gig, where unlike Associated Content where you can write articles on anything and everything, they, this writing website picks the articles for you to write on. They seem to need a lot of articles about animals. Each article has to be at least 1400 to 2000 words, requires a lot of research to get all the facts, and they have a particular format of how the article is written. I was already assigned two articles to do, did finish one on Saturday, and need to work on the other one today, oh, and yes, there are deadlines to meet. But heck the pay is a heck of a lot better than AC...Then of course I have my craft work I'm squeezing in, plus a potential photo project other than that one I mentioned in my other discussion.
I can't believe how far behind I am being here though. So I hope for those of my friends who have responded to my discussions, I will reply to your responses..uh, eventually. So don't think I'm ignoring you, okay?
Have any of you gotten way behind here...whether to reply to your own discussions or to answer on friend's discussions--isn't it enough to drive you bonkers?

Well, yes i do get a long way behind. I havent been here for a good few months, anything more than a few hours a week. However, i have been here more this weekend and i have noticed something new, there is a new spirit of rudeness a new harshness that i hadnt noticed before, come on mylot get your act together and kick the rudeness out before the site loses its special appeal

wpw thats great news my friend, and yes i know that feeling.i am still behind on my discussions as well and it's so hard to get caught up.thats great about the articles my friend.i just received a offer 2 days ago as well from a lady that wants me to write for her childrens book.she published like 3 books already and well i have to write a story about my twins,where it can be funny, sad etc. as long as it's a true story consisting of like 600 words.and if she likes my article she will publish my story and pay me $200.00 which is great i think for one story,so i was very impressed and happy to hear that.i have til april to write this though which is great because it gives me time.well i wish you luck hon.love pattie

I look at the fact that many people never comment on any of my responses, and never respond to any of my discussions, and I give myself permission not to feel guilty if I do not respond to all of my friends all of the time. This does turn into a rather busy time of the year. You are working. You may not be going to a work place, but you are working, and that has to come first. That writing site sounds really cool and interesting. I hope it becomes very lucrative, too. I am needing to be cleaning, have lots of "busyness" at my work(s), and am expecting company the week before Christmas, so I am not doing a lot here, or anywhere else. My friends understand that. I do really miss the site when I cannot be here, though, as it is one of my best social outlets. Still wishing you all the best about your photo possiblilities.

You may remember I left town for 5 days back in June and I turned off my most prolific posting friends during those 5 days. I still came back to over 500 posts/emails. I had even turned off Freecycle during that time so those didn't count either. Don't be afraid to turn off some of your "frequent post" friends if you are doing other things, you can always go to them & check their discussions they've started later on when/if you have time.
Meanwhile, congrats on getting some paying work!

Congrats on the writing gig. It definitely sounds like it's a lot better than AC. I haven't even written anything great for AC in the longest time. I did one a few months ago, but that was on a whim and I had it written for a few weeks before I actually got around to typing it up and submitting it to AC. I need to do some more writing for AC because I'm going to need the cash! I get behind here all the time, it's kind of annoying, but then again, I have a tendency to get behind in everything online when it comes to school work and what not being due. So, I just kind of get used to it.

I would sure love to read some of your articles they want you to write about, pye. If it has to do with animals, more than likely will love to read it. Any chance you can either post some here as discussions or email me a few? Or even post/email me a link to them. You sure are busy but if it brings in a lil extra cash to help with living expenses, then go for it. We all understand and know your not purposely ignoring us. :-)

Hi pyewacket! Wow, that is really great! Wish you luck on all the things you're doing, all the best for you! I am also way,way behind with all my email notifications from discussions of mylot friends, I think i still have november notifications..I can't seem to have everything done. Just hope before the new year comes, everything has all been resolved. Sigh! Take care and all the best for you my friend! :)

Grats on your new gig, but don't let it stop you from visiting. As for being behind personally, I'm always behind. There's always a discussion that needs to be answered and its hard finding some of the better ones. And yes I do get caught up replying to my own (you should see the Letter = Self game, Ridiculous Christmas Lists for examples).

It's great to know you are keeping your mind sharp, pyewacket. I had gotten really behind, but I am catching up now that my eyes are no longer bothering me. You should let us know about some of the articles you are writing. I've been posting some on Ac and Helium, but I have not yet gotten the hang of linking them so some of my friends can read them.

i think you've been a lot more than i am. (;B)
i only get to use the internet when i am at the office... (oppps!! - i shouldnt have let that secret out...).. so i miss a lot of discussions during the weekend - and when i come back to the office on monday like today - my mailbox is just tooooo full!
and i do get behind in responding to some of the good discussions started by friends (- like you)...
anyway, i think that it's great that you've found something that can let you earn more, while doing something that you're really good at.
