Hi MyLotters :) I have a question for all my Jewish friends out there, because I dont know very much about that religion.
Do you only eat food that is Kosher? Or do you mix your diet with Kosher and regular food?
Also, if you could answer me this - what makes Kosher food different from non-kosher food?
Please enlighten me!
Yours,
Tee

Yes, i only eat kosher food and i never eat non-kosher food. In short, what makes kosher food different from non-kosher food is that kosher food follows the Jewish dietarry laws. It would be too hard to explain it all here. Basically we are only allowed to eat the meat and drink the milk of certain animals and not others. We are also not allowed to eat meat and dairy together.

My father is a converted Jew, but he still keeps a Kosher diet. From what I understand, Kosher is based upon cleanliness and purity.
Certain animals may not be eaten at all. This restriction includes the flesh, organs, eggs and milk of the forbidden animals.
Of the animals that may be eaten, the birds and mammals must be killed in accordance with Jewish law.
All blood must be drained from the meat or broiled out of it before it is eaten.
Certain parts of permitted animals may not be eaten.
Fruits and vegetables are permitted, but must be inspected for bugs
Meat (the flesh of birds and mammals) cannot be eaten with dairy. Fish, eggs, fruits, vegetables and grains can be eaten with either meat or dairy. (According to some views, fish may not be eaten with meat).
Utensils that have come into contact with meat may not be used with dairy, and vice versa. Utensils that have come into contact with non-kosher food may not be used with kosher food. This applies only where the contact occurred while the food was hot.
Grape products made by non-Jews may not be eaten.
Kosher food is regular food, it's just a matter of how it's killed and what animal and what part of the animal it is. For instance, jews can only eat beef that is from the front of the cow. Nothing from the abdomin back can be consumed. Pigs are dirty creatures and therefore may not be consumed.
For any further information, you'd have to talk to a rabbi. LOL
