Ancient Civilizations: The Dropa Stones

I have always had a fascination with anthropology and ancient civilizations. I happened across an interesting article that fit right into this category-with a bit of a slant. It seems that a team of explorers in the China/Tibet region happened upon a system of caves back in 1938. What was even stranger than these caves were the skeletons they found within them. They were below average in height with larger than normal skulls. This wasn't the only surprising fact that was discovered in these caves, however. A stone disk with a center hole and striations radiating out to the edges was also found. When it was all said and done, a total of 716 of these strange disks were found. Upon closer inspection, what had at first been perceived to be striations in the disks were determined to, in fact, be writing. The words were in an unknown language, however, and would remain that way until almost 30 years later. A worker at the facility where these strange disks had been stored for decades decided to try and decipher them. He finally was able to break the code and discovered a message that he was prevented from publicizing. It was later that another scientist took up the task of getting the message out to the public. The stones were from a people who claimed to have been stranded when their spacecraft crashed in the mountains. They called themselves the Dropa. They told of how they were shunned by the tribe members in the area(some were even killed). The theory is that there are descendants of this race of aliens still living in those mountains today. They average 4'2" in height with yellow skin and blue eyes. Their eyes are said to not have the slant of the Chinese race. Have you ever heard of the Dropa Stones? Do you find this story interesting?
