Shopping with My Hubby

We had to go to Walmart to return a shirt that I bought that was too big for one of my grandsons. I decided to get him slippers instead. I headed for the service desk while my Hubby was checking out the sales in a nearby aisle.
We then headed for the slippers. Alas, there were none that struck my fancy. We headed straight for the toy department. I picked up a fishing game and some batteries for it. Hubby was looking around and I managed to lose him. Found him again as I was looking at the vitamins. Lost him again.
I found a beard trimmer and some razor blades (those were pricey, $12 for 5 blades!). I headed quickly for the nearest checkout. Prompting the cashier to hurry so he doesn't see the gifts, she quickly slid my purchases over the scanner and I paid with a quick swipe of my debit card as I waved to my Hubby who was looking at a book at the other end of the cash registers!
I headed his way with my package in hand to see what he was laughing about. It was Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck Dictionary. I never thought that he would like such a thing, but he does.
We arrived home and had lunch when the phone rang. It was my Mother looking for a ride to go shopping. I groaned, but went to pick her up. She had some errands to run in town, but wanted to go to Walmart to pick up her medications. When we got there, I picked up the book that Hubby was reading and bought it for him.
I can't wait to see his expression when he opens his gifts and I tell him the story of when I bought them. I am sneaky!

We have to be! I had to head straight for the spare room and wrap the gifts before he could figure out that the gifts were for him.

LOL It is so much fun being sneaky this time of year. I love the Christmas season. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I had to be sneaky too. I am not too good at it though.

You are sneaky! That is cute. He will enjoy the book. Sometimes that is the only way to get ideas, is to watch at things they look at. I am glad you found something he won't be expecting.

I work in a retail store. I have had to 'hide' lots of things from the kids. I love being sneaky.
I bought DD a present with her with me. I pretended to lay it down but stuck it in my coat sleeve. I was so scared someone was going to get me as shop lifting! LOL
When we got to the register, I just gave her 50 cents for the video games and off she went. I was buying a pair of shoes so i stuck it in the box after the clerk scanned it. She never knew.

My husband always like Babylon 5. I recorded it on VHS, but now we had a DVd. We went to Future Shop and he saw they had the First Season of Babylon 5 and next to it was the Lost Episodes of Babylon 5. He said he would not mind getting the other seasons, so we went down to Bestbuy and got another episode. The next payday we went back to Futureshop, no more Babylon 5 and the Lost Episodes of Babylon 5 were still there, but my husband is a Die Hard fan, so he got the last Die Hard Episode. Meanwhile he got the other Babylon 5 episodes from the video rental store and from Amazon.com.
Oh take a wild guess what he is going to get for Christmas?

That was very sneaky of you. I did not know that were so sneaky like that. LOL I am sure he will get a good laugh when he opens his gifts and finds that book there. I am sure he will be very happy to get it. Did the store people say anything about you coming back so soon after your earlier visit? :-) Sometimes it can be difficult deciding on what to get people for the holidays so that was very clever of you to do that. :-) Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

First off, thanks for the great hint, my hubby would love the Jeff Foxworthy book. I will have to see if our Wal Mart has it tomorrow, while he works. I have to go be sneaky at the store myself. Do you wonder if while he was busy "getting lost" he also got some surprises for you? I would be asking myself that. I hope you have a terrific Christmas. I think I am making Christmas dinner for Christmas night at my son's house. It is his wife's birthday as well. I ran in to the town where she works and bought a Dress Barn gift card for her. I want her to be sure to do something for herself.

It is hard to get away with sneaky shopping trips when the intended recipient is with you. So you managed well.
What is Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck Dictionary?
