OK, what did I miss????

Hmmmm.... I've been very busy the past couple weeks and hardly been on at all, then I go out of town for a couple days and BAM! Everyone's gone bonkers on me??? What's up???
So, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, I post something cool about my AWESOME weekend and I noticed that one of my friends that replied has changed his avitar. Cool, everyone (but me it seems) does this all the time. Now, I recognized this avitar from before - it's a cute little puppy sleeping - and got to thinking that this one friend posted a discussion recently asking why everyone thought he was female. And I thought "OH, with that avitar, people probably would associate it with a woman, not a man." Since I knew I'd seen that avitar before, I figured it had been a past one of his and went to find his discussion about the misconception and post about it. I found the discussion, and as I was looking for my avitar on my comment, I noticed that there are TONS of people using this avitar now (today???)... I looked at my friends discussion page and almost everyone has the same avitar!!! I looked and 6 of my friends are using this one. I know there are many others out there I saw in my quick glance that are not on my friends list.
I know there's got to be a discussion out there about it, but I have no where to start looking. What did I miss???

LOL It's TerryZ's avatar LOL She got banned so everyone is protesting LOL there are a ton of discussions on this right now.

Yeah, I did find it like 2 seconds after I posted this. Guess it wasn't as hard as I though it'd be... As much as I agree with the sentiment, I don't know that I'll change my avitar - it's me everywhere...

I noticed the same thing this morning. That several people within the same discussion has the puppy as their avitar. Not sure what is up with that, but it does make following a discussion a bit harder, when you have two with the same one. I haven't changed mine since I started here. Even if I did, I don't think it would be the puppy! LOL

It took me a couple seconds to find the right discussion - or one of them. It's nice to know there's a sense of family here, but I'm going to be an oddball and keep my saturn.

If you want to take a look around, it was posted here on MyLot by Gabs & Pyewacket. Yeah, they both DO have very similar avatars, being that Pyewacket added a bit to hers. If you want specific URL's to their discussions, I can provide them. Some say it is a tribute, & others have called it a protest. I guess it is a bit of both. Are you having a good laugh like I am with all of these people using the same avatar & probably driving people up the wall?

Yeah, dummy me, I found a couple posts about 10 seconds after I posted this. I know there's a reason for it, but I can't wait for everyone to get back to themselves. I can hardly figure out who I'm replying to any more :)

We are doing a memorial for a friend who got trolled and banned. MyLot has thusfar refused to answer any questions about "Why", so we are all using her avatar. We actually wanted people to think they were seeing things. Our friend refuses to come back with another name, as she had done nothing wrong that she knew of, and she was really bothered that she could log in, accept friends, but not post a thing. She had her account completely deleted. Others are talking about leaving in protest. We will all go back to normal around the first of the year.

It's very sad that these things happen - and to the good people, not the idiots!!! myLot has dropped on my priority list a lot lately, but I really do miss those that are gone.

WOW, which I will once again state is nothing but MOM spelled upside down, am I as befuddled as you! I have been away for a few days too and on top of that, I sent a MyLot email to "SPAM" by total accident a couple of weeks ago and am getting NO email notifications at all, not even in my Bulk folder. I always miss out on the misadventures and dramas of my MyLot friends. Never before have I been one to ignore a good protest; but I don't know what this one is about, and honestly, I'm not sure if the person that everyone is protesting about is a friend of mine or not; which really doesn't matter - right is right and wrong is wrong. And just to think, I was thinking about changing my avatar for the new year! I don't think it was going to be to a sleeping dog though. It is still something to ponder.~Donna

I think TerryZ was on my friends list, but I do know that I liked her discussions/responses. I haven't really gone through to find the threads about it all, but it is a shame when this kind of stuff happens.

Well what is going on with me is the fact that im still trying to figure out how exactly mylot works, haha. Trying to figure out how exactly the participation and refferals work.

Just keep postin' and talkin' to people. That's the best way to make your way around here. You'll find those that you like to discuss things with and they'll become friends.
