Addiction Recovery ???

When did you realize that you were lost, that you were in need of recovery from an addiction? Did it shock you to discover that you had developed an addiction? Did you know something was wrong but did not know it had a name? I am trying to recover from co-dependency. This is also known as co-addiction. I am not the actual addict. I am the one who lives with the addict and reacts inappropriately to the addict. Are you the addict or the co-dependent?
