Apparently, the woman and her boyfriend were babysitting the child and decided to leave the baby in the car and go into a bar. So, the couple are arrested and the child has been put into the grandparents' care. Everyone loses! So dumb!

I cannot believe the idiots that are running loose in this world. That was really wanting to go to a bar really bad to leave a baby in the car..These people should be arrested, they are not capable of caring for a baby..I would never leave my child with a person like that..I babysitted once for a woman and she left her child forever at my house,i could tell by looking at her she was no good but i thought she would at least pick up her baby.We finally started going around trying to find that woman, had i not been so young i would have called child welfare but i just kelp the baby until she got back.i had that baby for several days and i guess she finally remembered she had a baby and come and got him...

What could the mother have been thinking, to leave her baby in the care of someone so immature. It sounds like the mother was not that good a judge of character. It is too bad that she lost custody of the child. It is too bad that the child was disregarded in this fashion, and not valued and cared for.

those people should be put in jail for a very long time. and i dont remember that ever being ok to do. i would never leave my child in the car alone even if i was at the gas station. that is just wrong. if you cant be responsible and take care of your kids then you dont need them.

I just find all this type of behavior uncalled for. What are people thinking? Apparently they aren't thinking at all. It is if though some are not capable of thinking through a scenerio to see what the end result would be, or they lack just plain ole common sense!

I went to the article and read it amazed, I have five kids and I have left my children in a couple of my friends' care a couple of times here and there but I have always left my kids with responsible friends who have had kids of their own when my family wasn't able to watch them and it's usually only a max of five hours, but there have been a few occasions(that we agreed on) when we had sleep overs because our kids are the same age and enjoy eachothers company. I would never leave my child with someone that I didn't find responsible. I hope the parent learned her lesson and will now screen the people or friends she will let watch her kids. I'm glad that the child is safe and that the grandparents are taking care of her. I only wish the best for the little one. This is a tradgedy that seems to be happening more and more.

I gather the mother felt really bad about entrusting those 'friends' of her to babysit her child. Next time, she will let her parents take care of her or him, but I guess she felt that she had burdened them too much. I hope this couple get a good jail sentence and a fine. To go in a bar and have a drink is not a necesssity, not like picking up milk from the grocers. What kind of people are these?

The baby's mother should have known better than to leave her child with the woman. They are still young and may not appreciate the danger of leaving the child in the car. Perhaps they thought they will be away for a short while and it will be safe that the car is locked. Young people somehow prefer fun to babysitting. lol.

I remember when this was normal, leaving the kids in the car to go shopping, etc... I'm one of the kids that logged MANY hours being either bored to tears or fighting with my sisters and brother... locked in a station wagon parked on the street.
