The administration at Lee's Summit High School are really pushing the whole "Zero Tolerance = Zero Inteligence" envelope.
Travis Grigsby, and other members of the band's drumline have been suspended for using the "N" word. What "N" word was it that the braindead, educated idiots felt the need to freak out over?
Noose.
Now, this "N" word wasn't uttered as a threat or anything. In fact, what young Travis actually said was in admitting that he knew how to tie one, but wouldn't because he might get in trouble.
Just another example of how Harris and Klebold brought guns to Columbine High and shot the ability to think straight out of public school administrators everywhere.
Someone shoud suspend the braindead administrators since they are obviously a bigger threat than Travis.

OMG.
Noose? As in a rope with a circle so you can hang yourself?
Come on.
The real issue is that a black kid could have said something racist about a white kid and the admins would have just laughed.
But thanks for the laugh so early this morning. I needed it.

Look at rap songs. How many times do they say the real N word or degrade white people and no one says anything?
I would post lyrics here, but that'll get me banned. Take a journey through Snoop Dog's lyrics or 50 cent's lyrics. I am not a rap fan, so I can't tell you more rappers than that.
But again, no one says anything. Yet you let Dave Matthews Band, Rob Thomas or even country star Randy Travis start singing about blacks using the N word and see what happens.

Yeah, 'noose'. The rediculous part is that the kid was saying he WOULDN'T tie one... and that's what got him in trouble.

I think there was probably more to the situation than just saying the word, really. But remember, none of us were there. If they suspended him for simply saying that word, then the school is in the wrong.
But the kids say they were discussing the best way to tie up band equipment? Why would a noose be their big idea? Personally, I can't think of any band equipment that could be secured with a noose. Then again, I was never in the school band, so there may be some kind of equipment I don't know about. Now that I really think about it, I realize I've never seen *anything* but a neck tied up with a noose.
To me, it sounds like the teacher heard the word, and it caught his attention, so he asked what the guys were talking about, and they said they were talking about tying up equipment. That makes more sense to me than seriously considering tying up equipment with a noose. :-/

Suspended for the word, noose? That's just plain dumb! Of course I think that public schools are getting dumb in a lot of ways lately.
Last year, 1 of my kids was in preschool and the other was in kindergarten. We've moved a lot lately, but during the first half of the year, we lived in a state that snowed, (Wisconsin as a matter of fact! haha, Eau Clair to be percise), Anyway, it snowed real bad one night but, the schools were still open the next day. My kids were not on a route in which the bus picked them up, but I did live to far away to walk and I had very bad, practically bald tires on my car. The roads had not yet been plowed and it was so bad that people were driving only 15 to 20 mph and still sliding off into the ditch.
Well I didn't want to risk driving in that with bald tires to take my kids to school. I called the preschool and told them my kid wouldn't be there that day and had no problem, probably 'cause preschool isn't required anyway. But when I called the grade school to tell them my kindergartener wouldn't be in class because I had bald tires and didn't think it safe conditions to drive him there, they told me that if I kept him home, he would receive an 'un-excused absence'! WHAT?!?! I don't know any kindergartener who misses school unless they are kept home by a parent or gardian! How/ why would you give an un-excused absense to a kindergarten student?! Especially when that student's parent called to say THEY were keeping the kid home? Stupid if you ask me!
