Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Do you have a relationship with, work with/care for anybody with autism. How does autism affect your life, how does autism manifest itself in the person you know, do you ask for help or work alone, are you helping a parent of an autistic child.
I am a carer working with autistic spectrum disorder and i am curious about other peoples experiences with autism. I work with children and enjoy what i do very much, i know that these children are provided with love, shelter, care and evrything else that a happy child needs and i gain satisfaction from being a part of a team that endeavours to provide all of these things.

Yes, I know someone with autism. My oldest son, who is 10 years old, is autistic. My husband helps me take care of him (as well as our other son). It isn't always easy to take care of a child with autism, but my husband and I take it one day at a time. That is all one can really do.
