Advantages: 1. i can log on anytime i want, even at midnight or at dawn when the sun hasn't risen up and all the people are still sleeping soundly dancing in dreamland. ^__^;; 2. i can bring my meals or any food in front of the computer and eat away while surfing the net, typing with one hand or one hand with the spoon/fork and one hand on the mouse. or just eating while watching something over the net. ^__^;; 3. i can surf the net for how long i want, until my eyes turn red and cry. until my fingers feel numb and my back aches. or until there is power interruption. LOL 4. i can download everything, anything that i want without the need to save it to a USB, a cd or anything. i can save tons of pictures and songs and no one will have a problem with it!!! wahahahaha!!! DISadvantages: 1. i get regular sermons from my mother.. .

Some of the advantages that I think about having your internet connection at home: (they are pretty much the same with what you mentioned) 1. Easily access to the net at the convenience of your own house. No need to pay at cafe or computer shops. 2. Unlike computer shops that are strict often when it comes to food and beverages, I too can bring my own meal while doing something with the computer. 3. We could also take as much time as we want with an internet connection at home. 4. Depending on the space available, I can download anything that I want from the net. Most of the disadvantages I experience on having an internet connection at home: 1. Instead of doing morning stretches after waking up, I immediately go infront of the computer to check on things. 2. I end up spending so much time that I don't particulalry do any physical activity. 3. It becomes a habit that whenever it gets cut-off, the vexing feelings take over and I seldom take it out on the customer assistant operators. 4.

hi ratyz! yeah, our muscles get dormant when we are addicted to the internet. only our finger muscles and probably our eye muscles are exercised. tsk tsk tsk. its good that i have work on Mondays to Fridays because i can't be glued up to the computer on those days and i have the chance to stretch in the mornings.

I was looking for that word, 'dormant' a few days ago.. yeah, kind'a blows but, I still try to be as active as I can and do some pull ups or anything that requires action..

jogging every morning would be good. ^__^ oh crap. reminds me, i forgot to do my routine warm up for this morning. ^__^;; i've started doing my exercise routine again last Tuesday. i do it before taking a bath before going to work. its really bad when there's no work. there's no pressure to take a bath early and no pressure to do a warm up. ^__^;;

that has never crossed my mind yet! my niece is only four months old and it will still be a long way before she would need less attention from her mother. but when that time comes, my sister would have the pleasure of using my computer from Mondays to Fridays while I'm at work! sheesh. darn it. I wish I was working near at home.

hi riyasam! yeah, that's one unavoidable thing. you just can't refuse the kids. my nephew sometimes bugs me too when he wants to watch his favorite show in the computer. but i don't let him because he's always watching it with his mother when i'm not at home. when i'm at home, i rule my computer. when i'm not at home, my sister can use the pc.

I always wants to have a computer and internet at home so I can do a lot of things and earn an extra income but my budget is tight. I need to save more money from the internet so I can buy a computer and have an internet in our house than use my office internet during extra office hours.

hi barn! you should take breaks in between internet surfing. you can't fully concentrate on what you are doing if you don't take enough rest. ^__^

The internet must never be home, it could cost your marriage if you are a married person, why? because it takes most of your attention away from people around you and that is obviously an anti-social attribute of the net!

I think you are quite right. Most of the things as adnvantages and disadvantages are same in my case as well. But there are some additional disadvantages. Its like I do consume a lot of electricity. I am also damaging my eyes more and more.

hi lorelai! I guess your disadvantage is not being able to stop coz the unlimited connection is thre and you just want to take advantage of it.

Well, the pros: 1.I can look up any information I want as things do pop up in my mind when I am cooking etc. 2.I find loads of information which is so accessible.the internet is really a boon for those looking for information. 3.I log on when I am finished with chores,sometimes when I am unable to sleep as well. 4.I can listen to songs while surfing the net. Cons: 1.Like you,I tend to delay my chores forever.so I have to resort to a kind of self restraint so that I finish my chores. 2.I mostly look up recipes for cakes etc so I get confused a lot since there are thousnads of them on the net. 3.I do tire my eyes out and my husband has to forcobly take the computer away from me so that I don't hurt my eyes. That is it for now:)

hi nageswari! you are so right that the internet has loads of information, almost about anything. my niece actually got the contents of her project from the internet although I was not the one who got it for her, it was my sister coz I was not at home then when she needed it. I can also get almost any kind of image I want. but just like what you said, because it contains a lot of information, sometimes it gets confusing on which is better and which is true. my mother also always reminds me to take care of my eyes because when I get an allergy attack, my eyes get swollen. she thinks I might hurt my eyes if I stay too much in front of the computer because of the radiation. she's right. sometimes my eyes would get so itchy. but I still never listen. ^__^;;

Hi hun, How are you doing? I can relate to all the advantages you have stated above and as for the disadvantages I can say that there is no TIME OUT. I can go on and on and on without any break and hindrance. And this is affecting my health highly and not to forget the social life that I am refraining from giving lame escuses. Thanks.

hi mimpi! I'm doing great! I hope you are too even with straight internet surfing without breaks. ^__^;; I feel you in that. I usually force myself to turn off the computer, and take a break for while. it takes a great will and determination because I'm really addicted! LOL but I still manage to take a break once a day and get sleep at night because I know it will be bad if I continue non-stop. there are nights when I can feel that my back is already aching. but I would just stretch for a bit and whisk it away and then continue surfing again. ^__^;; I guess I have to have more control and self-discipline. I also understand about forgetting, rather ignoring social affairs and providing lame excuses. i've provided reason as lame as being lazy. LOL and then I didn't attend the despidida party for a friend who have gone back to Korea. I am so bad aren't I? ^__^;;

That is fun my friend. I dont internet connection at home, and even i want to get an internet service i cant, for im not paying the electric bill. :-( it would be a big fight from my elder sister. so i have to be contented surfing the net at my office. but of course the advantage is,, surfing is free but limited and when someone wants to use the internet i have to give way to others to use the computer. since theres only one pc in our division that has internet connection. ;-)

Advantage, when I was sick, I could still do internet, doesn't take much energy. Disadvantage, when I was sick, I didn't do housework and now my dishes are really backed up. Advantage, can be done any time of the day or night. Disadvantage, I go too late, but not late enought for electric savings program, then get up too late to use the electric savings program. So now that I'm better, I will be trying to catch up on everything using electrical savings time. Take care
@secretbear (19463)

LOL isn't that a bit ironic with the electric savings program? ^__^;; yeah, when we are sick we can still surf the net at home. i'm guessing you live alone? coz even if i am sick, i won't have to worry with the household chores. somebody will do the dishes for me.LOL

For me I don't spend as much time with my daughter or husband if I am on the internet and its addictive all bad for you. Positive is I can find auditions and competitions easier and also make new friends and keep old ones. I also make a little money on the internet from sites like this.
